First: I changed my rgconf setting from ddraw to opengl, otherwise it didn't boot up at all, (thought of this from battlespire guide)
Secondly: I dumped the files and folders from the 3dfx extraction into the reguard folder, rather than whole folder.
extras: i used the daumz dosboz like he recommends i tried dosbox x but couldnt get dosbox x to load at all i use dosbox x for battlespire. I set my rgconf resolution to original matching my modern resolution. Also I didn't do anything in his optional section except the joystick stuff i set my joystick to auto and timed to false & all the other joystick stuff to false. steam input controller config to map the S key to sheathe your sword and escape to start button. doing both software & GOG glide i must say Glide is way better IMHO
I tried everything btw and stayed on the pure Steam version exactly because of fps drops.
It's currently alive and gets updates, so using it is better than Daum which is abandoned.
