##### Preface
For those who have read it, "The Years of Rice and Salt" is an alternate history novel where the black plague wiped most of Europe. With times, new major power rose, and history repeated itself.

Although it is not the best book in the world, this book is still well worth the reading. So imagine my surprise when there was no *that i could find at least) mod recreating the book events in EU4.

So here it is, my attempt at doing it.

##### Description
This mod will empty europe (Leaving only a few survivors on islands), add colonial regions in said empty europe and add events and new contents.

For now the basics are there, and it is fully playable, but more content will comes. Im also open to any suggestion or feedback. Dont forget to check the patchnotes for what's new.

##### What's done
- New Colonial regions across Europe *For now they follow the trade nodes borders)
- Four new tech groups.
- Multiples new survivor enclaves,
- An empty europe, ready for colonization.
- Institution reworked to be able to spawn anywhere. Changed some requirement to make more sense, will tweak them with times.
- Reworked the Vanilla Ages, now all (But two) objectives are availables to everyones, and all abilities are available to everyones.
- Reworked Flagships modifications to make some that where restricted to now extinct countries be availables to everyones.
- New technologies level, it should now last up to year 2000.

##### Recommendation
DD Trade Wind Mod : Add more trade winds, to protect the Americas.

##### Future plans
- Adding events and decision inspired from the book or other AH stories (I admit that event modding is something that i suck, so might take time)
- Adding mission tree's for survivors and for existing countries.
- Adding new formable countries
- Adding new ages and innovations
* Adding tribal survivors accross europe (Maybe)

I've never read this book and am assuming the borders are based on it, but would you be able to remove kebab (or make a decision to) if you ever update this? it makes no sense that the regions of Anatolia and the Levant wouldn't also be wiped out if Europe was, similar levels of urban development, resistance to the same diseases, stuff like that, even if its just a sub mod for realism them being there makes no sense.

Would you consider changing "Shetlands" to "Shetland" (or better yet, Hjaltland) and Orkney to Norwegian culture? As a local this would better reflect the culture at the time!

i think moscovys borders make not to much sense think it would be better to make him smaller, split up or you give him some provinces back but reduce thier dev by a lot like a 4 dev moskau would i think this would be a better solucion but i pritty much like the rest of the map

also about castile and portugal on the islands wouldnt it be better to make one country of them to unite them together under some kind of trade goverment as kinda refuges that mixed together or something dk
