On less open maps (especially forested) it often works to try and counterattack recon that terrorises arty (you). Set up an OP in the area of arty guns, preferably in covered and protected place. It can give you the warning in case enemy near and give you some time to react and attempt to kill approaching recon - what gives you time to find and destroy recon's OP. In case you died first - your OP, if positioned well can give an opportunity to evade spawn camping. In that case it would be better to find recon's OP first, and then go back and kill them.
If successful, you can get rid of recon for considerable amount of time in which you can keep enjoying mass murder of enemy team flaming their recon
