Getting Workshop Items to Work

Many workshop items may not appear to work at first. Specifically, this guide is for weapons. It may not work (or be necessary) for other kinds of workshop items.

Go to "D:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\362890". Please note, my Steam install is on drive "D". It may be different for you. If you do not have a second hard disk, simply go to "C", not "D".

Each workshop item has a folder within the "362890" folder. Inside each folder is the VPK file for each item. Ignore the "cache" file. Copy cut (ctrl + x) the VPK file, and go to:

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms
Three
If it is not already there, create a new folder and name it "custom". Inside the folder you just made, paste the VPK file.
Four
Unsubscribe to the workshop item, and delete it's original folder back in "362890".
Five
Load up the game.
