@zeditha how fast were you able to do that? ive got it but its still taking 20 seconds per catch, im not sure if im doing something wrong or not. i know its been a long time since your comment

I tested to see if the 2x catch tackles give 2x xp and unfortunately they do not. It's still worthwhile using Sam's Hook though because the orange gem gives so much catch xp, and using the fisherman's jig for double xp will give you mostly fish as well as a slower cast so it's less xp overall.
Also getting the orange gem from fighting the boss only gives the regular boss xp and doesn't give catch xp from the gem.

Note for new players looking at this - make sure you've gone into the workshop and spent one orange gem on dam fishing to reduce cast times in the reservoir.

Just to add to this: if you have 27 fishing pole mods, put them all into Other and use the Fisherman's Rod. It's faster than using Fancy Stick.

Using this method, I have gone from 52ish to 97 in 24ish hours. Pretty effective, for sure. I think it'll only take like 26 or 28 hours to reach 100, so this is deff top tier.

Thanks Elvira!!! Yes i did do them concurrently as-well it pays off... Sadly i lost all my progress due to a bad connection with steam cloud so i no longer play but if anything else is needed I will try my utmost best to remember and to help. I'm glad this helped you though!
