Intro
Hello, this guide is meant to help my fellow completionists attain the impossible achievement and will address some of the more prominent obstacles and provide strategies for overcoming them. The information in this guide was accumulated during my own attempts, which brings me to my first suggestion: dedicate at least a few runs to studying enemy behavior and practicing strategies. Information by itself will probably not be enough, you will need to know how it "feels" to defeat each enemy type. Practicing your strategies on the gold knight in story mode for example will allow you encounter that enemy type and practice with minimal time investment. Kill 100+ definitely isn't the time to be testing out strategies. The endeavor itself is mostly a matter of patience. With enough time and practice, anyone can achieve Impossible!

For simplicity's sake I'm going to define my terminology here. When I refer to a left or right strike, I will be speaking from the reference point of the player-character. This includes enemy attacks. Example: If I say the enemy is doing a right strike, it means you need to do a right block to defend. In other words, I am always speaking in the players perspective.
The glitch
You know the one. This is one of two obstacles that ended my runs most frequently, the other being the stick wielding enemies(we'll go into more detail on them later). I did some extensive testing, attacking from different positions with different attacks at different times and believe I've narrowed down the parameters of its occurrence enough to be able to almost totally avoid it. The two primary variables for it happening seem to be distance from the enemy and timing of your attack. The closer you are to the enemy, the more likely the chance of activating the glitch. The further into the enemies attack animation he is, the more likely chance for the glitch to trigger. Therefore, maintaining maximum distance while striking at the earliest possible moment minimizes your chances of taking damage from the glitch. I've found that overhead strikes from the enemy are the majority of glitched attacks. Never strike at the enemy if he has already begun to initiate an overhead strike, it will almost always cause the glitch. I was also able to trigger the glitch by standing as close as possible to the enemy and blocking. Sometimes it would cause as many as 3 or 4 strikes in quick succession. As long as I was blocking when the glitch occurred, I never took damage. You can only take damage from this glitch if you are attacking.

The safest method I found for dispatching these enemies is left strikes at maximum distance. Overhead strikes also work relatively well. Right side strikes are risky because they are a little slower to land and is therefore more likely to activate the glitch. That being said, there are times you will activate it even if you use the quickest strike at the earliest moment. This happens when he initiates an overhead strike before you begin your attack. You will see sometimes he's a frame or two faster when initiating the overhead strike and there is no attack you can do that will not trigger the glitch in this instance. This is what you must avoid. You will be able to avoid it entirely with practice.

As far as the correct distance goes, use the enemies own behavior to help you. He has an almost exact distance that he stops moving at as he approaches you, every time. You can use this to your advantage. Simply wait for him to close the distance once you are near and move from that position. Here is the distance he stops moving at: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1836917820826690074/903265AD478F6C0C515B37858248F2AEF8528357/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Notice he is just baaaarely out of range of a right strike. A single step will bring him into perfect range. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1836917820826986647/1894235406741519E87D0D8E990E156114AD644E/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

He of course complicates this a little by moving back and forth. He will often move out of range as you strike, causing you to miss. It may be necessary to move backward or block in this situation to avoid damage. Generally he carries himself far enough away for it not to be an issue though. You may simply wait for him to approach the correct distance again. As you become more comfortable with your distance and attack timing, you won't need to wait for him and you may press the attack confidently. I'm normally more aggressive and use my left strike frequently but this was a demonstration, adapt your fighting style as you feel necessary.
Stick man
This guy ended a number of my runs post 100 kills and kept me from getting beyond 70's for the longest time. He's actually a relatively simple enemy but a few factors make him one of the most difficult to consistently defeat without taking at least some damage (at least for me). There are two methods to dispatching him without taking damage. The first involves maintaining distance as he attacks then immediately moving in and attacking (much like the ogre enemy). You can cut it pretty close, here are some snapshots of the minimum distance for his swings: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1836917820826599237/2B206FC0D3E9BD8C7DEE2BD513AF082A27264B51/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

You would move forward immediately when you see these frames and strike after you are within range (usually one step). https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1836917820826978752/A21AF06A2E94E5395BECBBCD209648AB6C51EF94/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Now, this enemy moves back at the worst possible moments. It makes the timing on this method change from time to time. Sometimes you may get away with being a few steps away before you move in, other times it seems like you may time it perfectly and still miss then get hit. Best just to strive for perfect timing and distance every time to minimize the variance affecting you.

The second method involves actually engaging our friend here and blocking his strikes until he is in a position you can attack. I don't really recommend this method on its own as these fights can get confusing real quick and if you screw up you can accumulate damage very quickly. The above method is a little more forgiving of mistakes. That being said, it is good to know how to hold your own in case you botch an attack and find yourself in his zone. You can watch his weapon to determine the order of strikes (it is always 2 at a time) but I honestly found it easier to look at his arms. Whichever arm is furthest away is the side where the next attack is coming. Reference the screenshots to see what I mean. The overhead strike is going to have a follow-up attack on the right side(notice the enemies left arm position) Try to sit still and let a few of these guys wail on you for awhile to familiarize yourself with blocking and spotting these attacks. It will often save you from damage if you whiff your strike and have time to see and block the incoming attack which can save your 100+ run from disaster.

I mostly used overhead strikes almost exclusively with these guys. Right strike was just too slow and left side just wasn't enough distance.
Werewolf
Just wanted to mention this guy because I feel like my method for killing them often saved me a lot of time and damage. Basically just run at them suicidally until he initiates attack. Block then left strike and immediately right strike. You will hit him twice EVERYTIME. Since he takes only 4 hits to dispatch, you only need block two attacks. Here is a video to demonstrate: https://youtu.be/BP3m1IF2_Os
Closing
That's basically it, these were the largest obstacles I had in getting this achievement, all other enemies have decent strategies covered in another guide. I will mention the gold knight here. His speed is about the same of the werewolves and he has the thrust attack which I guess just fried my brain. I found that if I focused on his regular attacks instead, I rarely was hit by the thrust as it takes the longest to hit. Most of my damage came from anticipating a thrust and not reacting to a regular strike quickly enough. If you have any questions about other enemies or any of the information in this guide, I will be happy to address them. Good luck!

I was having trouble fighting the staff user without getting hit and was hoping for some tips on easily blocking him. Turns out I was doing to right thing but just needed to make sure I was the tiniest bit outside of his hitbox when he swung because I was sometimes missing my counter after stepping in like you wrote in your guide.
Managed to get to 113 my next try even with 4-5 staff guys in a row at the end. :Roedeer:
