Scenario Letters

Description

This mod will give the scenario builders a new part called "Letter" that they can use to send the player messages to give them some much deserved flavor and depth.


Motivation

When you build new Scenarios, you want to tell a story. But in vanilla Rimworld there is simply no way to do that (apart from cramping it all into the GameStartDialog).

We believe: *Why* a raid is coming for you and *why* the sun will never rise above your pawns head ever again - that is the backbone of a story you put into the scenario. And with Scenario Letters, you now can tell that story.


Details

We took special care to ensure compatibility:
  • Very lightweight
  • No mod dependencies
  • No changes to the base game code, e.g. via Harmony
  • Because of that, it is very unlikely this mod will break in future versions

This mod must be installed both by the scenario builder and player.
Uninstalling the mod during a playthrough is not advised.


Languages

We support English and German as of now. Feel free to send us some additional translations and we will add them to the mod.


Compatibility

No incompatibilities known. Works well with every other mod.

Are there any plans to allow players to chose the type of letter (red, yellow, blue)?

@DogoDober i have a trick for you, copy the mods name, search it, and click in the Autors name without clicking the mods name, it should open the menu of the autors mods and not his profile

Y'know its sad trying to see a more Mods of a mod maker but then their profile is private so its pretty much just by chance seeing your mods.

When you write and publish Scenarios to the Steam Workshop, it allows you to present the story text you are writing to the player.
As a player, you will only see an effect, if you are playing a scenario from the Workshop that is using this mod.
