1. Download Localsend on both windows and steam deck
2. On windows open steam, browse local files on your game, and zip all the files into one
3. Use local send on windows to share the files to your steam deck via desktop mode
4. Create a new folder under the desktop folder and unzip the files into it
5. Cut the new updated files from that folder and paste them into your games local file
6. When it asks if you want to override hit yes until it doesn't show up anymore. You are overriding each individual file
7. Download Proton GE. Some games get stuck on a white screen after patching
8. Go back to game mode and switch your game to proton GE and enjoy. So far it's worked for all my games that require a Kagura Patch. Hope this helps
Simple guide:
Go to flatpak store, search for protontricks, if it asks for SD card wrote permission then copy the code it provides then paste and enter in terminal, re-open the patch with protontricks after it is placed inside the game directory then select the very same game in the protontricks menu, sim sala bim, it now works.
Any advice welcome.
I copy the entire folder of the game into the documents. The reason is, the documents folder is before the hidden .local where all my steam stuff is stored. Then I use q4win or bottle to run the patch.exe and can just install the patch into the copy. After that I just copy the modified game folder back into its original location and it works.
You can rename the original folder into a backup folder, just in case. And you probably don`t need to install bottle or q4wine. You just can run the patch exe via adding the patch as a non steam game und go with the usual way of running non steam games. But that leaves you with clutter in you library.
Went to this methode after trying everything I found here, but with no success.
Tried it with two Kagura games, and worked without issues.
