Super easy fix if you have rPFM. When you open the file go to ui, portraits, faction_leaders and rename the png in there to dae_nkari_0.png. Save, and install the file and your golden.

Any chance for an update - the portrait in the lord selection screen and in the game appear to be broken - the unit cards that is.
