How to get missing collectibles if you skip the credits

If you skip the credits at the end of the game, you can miss 3 collectibles. This guide shows you how to edit your save file to get those missing collectibles.

This guide is based on pretty much a copy of the guide by Reddit user u/TheRealJaluvshuskies, which can be found here. Please go and upvote that post if you can.
Affected collectibles
The following three collectibles are affected by this problem:
  • Research & Records > Reports > "Director Faden Photograph"
  • Hotline > Trench > "Endless Grind"
  • Hotline > Board > "The Future"
Step 0: Have you just completed the game?
If you have just completed the game and not made any progress afterwards, then you may not need to follow the rest of this guide. Replay the final mission Take Control and this time make sure you don't skip the credits. You will get the missing collectibles.

If, however, you have made progress afterwards, then replaying the mission will reset that progress. In that case, you should follow the rest of the guide to avoid losing that progress.
Step 1: Locate and back up your saved game
  1. Close the game completely if you haven't already, and allow Steam to upload your save file to Steam cloud, if that is enabled.
  2. Locate your saved game. It will be present in the userdata folder. For Windows, this is
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOURSTEAMID\870780\remote
    YOURSTEAMID should be a large number, and there shouldn't be too many folders like that unless you share your PC with multiple other Steam players.
  3. Create a backup copy of the save file that we will be editing, called
    savegame-slot-00_persistent
    Do not skip this step, or you could lose your progress if something goes wrong.
Step 2: Edit the save file
  1. Go to the online save editor here[reg2k.github.io] by reg2k.
  2. Select the save file we found in step 1 (savegame-slot-00_persistent)
  3. Open your browser's JavaScript console. On Chrome, you can do this by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J and then pressing the console button at the top of the sidebar that appears.
  4. Copy and paste the following code into the console:
    let IDS_TO_ADD = new BigUint64Array([0x13ea58eaa99a003fn, 0x3a719bb303af803fn, 0xf15e6d26615803fn]) let obj = saveData.data.playerPropertiesChunk.ktValue.data.foundNarrativeObjects let getAddr = ([ktParent, name, prop]) => ktParent._debug[name].ioOffset + ktParent._debug[name][prop] let [lenStart, arrEnd] = [[obj, 'numItems', 'start'], [obj, 'gid', 'end']].map(getAddr) new DataView(saveData.getBuffer()).setUint32(lenStart, obj.numItems + IDS_TO_ADD.length, true) saveData.regionManager.addRegion(arrEnd, new Uint8Array(IDS_TO_ADD.buffer))
    Essentially this code edits the save file to give you the three missing collectibles. Unfortunately the GUI of this save editor does not allow you to add the collectibles without using such a script.
  5. Hit Enter to run the script, then click the Save Changes button in the editor.
  6. Replace your current save (savegame-slot-00_persistent) with the new one you have just edited. Don't touch your backup.
Step 3: Check and enjoy!
  1. Open the game. If Steam complains about the save files not matching the ones on Steam cloud, then choose to keep the local save files.
  2. Check that you have the three missing collectibles.
If the game crashes, you can restore your backed up save and try again.

hi can you use this edit scrip to get the the bug achievements too? For the Foundation dlc, Astral Spike and Out of Options?

Thank you so much for this script! May I request the same code for the "End of the World" hotline? This is the last collectible in my personal collection
