General FAQ
  • What is this?

    This is a 'Ready for Use' pack of files to setup your vehicle packs with the latest YLVF customizable spawning

  • Do I need to subscribe to it to get the spawning feature?

    No, this file is included in any packs using the spawning feature, you don't need to subscribe even if any maps/mods require you to subscribe

  • Who need this?

    Anyone who wants to use YLVF spawning on their vehicle packs (more info -> ' Usage ' section)

  • Is there a tutorial?

Basic
  • Latest Version: V2.2
  • Date: 2022 December 11
  • Compatible with: YLVF 0.9.2+, Spawn Revisited
  • Incompatible with: Currently Not Found
  • Partly Compatible with: Vanilla Spawning Menu & Any mods based on vanilla spawning functions *¹

Usage
-- First Time: --
  • Subscribe to this mod and make local copy
  • Open the copied local folder
  • Inside the folder you will find: YLVF folder, spawn (COPY).txt and YLVFdata.lua
  • For the folder and YLVFdata.lua, directly copy and paste into your vehicle pack's folder
  • For the spawn (COPY).txt, open it, you will find instructions inside
  • After you done all above correctly, you should see a "Unnamed Pack" when you open the YLVF spawning panel, which indicates you've added an empty (and ready to edit) vehicle pack to list

-- Update Checker: --

Open YLVF spawning panel and select your vehicle pack, at bottom left you should see a button with version number of toolkit which is currently used, Green -> latest, Orange/Amber -> update avaliable

-- Updating: --
  • Make a new local copy when this mod got updated
  • Open copied local folder
  • Copy the YLVF folder and paste into your vehicle pack's folder, choose 'Overwrite' or 'Replace' when system notifies about duplicate files.
  • Now the button on spawning panel should become green again. if not, redo the whole updating process

-- Removing: --

Since the only possible alternation to your existing files is the text inside spawn.txt, removing process is much easier
  • Delete YLVF folder and YLVFdata.lua directly
  • Open your spawn.txt, find this and delete it
    YLVF/YLVF.xml : YLVF/DUMMY
  • Now your vehicle pack is removed from list

Notes and Other

  1. 'Partly Compatible' means no errors should occur but could cause some interruption in some extremely rare cases. This problem is UNAVOIDABLE if no external operation is done.
    Reason for this is in order to bypass game's limitation on reading files outside a mod, I have to use some other method to achieve the 'portable' feature of spawning, therefore game's spawning is used. This would add a prefab that ONLY includes a script inside so it's visually empty (which is also why all vehicle packs using this would have a ' DUMMY ' item under ' YLVF ' category). The script itself is already designed to avoid interruption to YLVF spawning but I can't make sure it won't cause problems to other mods.
    If you do find an interrupted mod and it is causing errors to prevent you from normal gameplay then please contact me, I would try to find a solution.
