In vanilla, the local armies travel at a speed of 40 toward a rally point. That's 13X an army's normal travelling speed and 2.7X ship speed.


Now It might make more sense to raise local armies instead of waiting for levies from every corner of your realm to gather. And since ships now travel much faster than gathering, you might want to manually embark local armies if you are in a rush.
