Star Ages
MatchyGotchy pets are stars, and all stars have different ages:

1. Smol Egg: They are an innocent little thing that would not know they have to live with names like ‘Poopie Pants’ or ‘Snowflake’ for life.
2. Tiny Baby: Star is just born, so they are entirely naked and somehow that is alright because they are cute as heck.
3. Awkward Teen: Stars slowly grow into adolescence, confused and grumpy as it gets. They get half their outfit in this process.
4. Rocket Surgeon: Welcome to adulthood! Star gets their full outfit, and they also grow into passive skills that allow them to work better and faster over time.

Building Ships
The moment stars are born they grow into different jobs to work towards that goal. Their primary task for MatchyGotchy is to build ships. Each time a star builds a ship it levels up to the next age. This process takes longer for the later characters.

Stars love Xanadu, and they want to go hang out and have fun. That’s what they need the ships for. The moment they are born they begin to build ships; this Is what constitutes for the productivity of the pet. Productivity becomes an invisible measure that, once all visible meters are full and
pet is entertained, they feel content to begin working. Click your star to put it to work,
each hammer strike will add to the completion of the current ship based on Productivity.

There are different statuses that will hinge this: hunger, sadness, sickness, sleepiness, sugar rush and death. If your pet is visibly happy, well fed, clean and entertained then they will be motivated to work better and faster; some of them even building multiple ships at once after they grow up.

Each ship costs 1000 Productivity points to complete for Matchy Star, the first character, but later characters have a higher cost. Note that as a result of the stacking as ships are built eventually it is possible to build tons of ships with just one hammer strike. Each character has a cap for the amount of ships they can build with one strike it is 2^n where n is the character's spawn order starting with zero. The higher the productivity the more likely a character will start working, and if the productivity is low there is a random chance the character will stop working.

Whenever Happy Meter and Hungry Meter deplete, or are close to being empty, your star might get sick. Your health being compromised can lead to no productivity, and in the worst case scenario even death.

There is one invisible meter you must top at all times, and that is productivity.

 Productivity Meter: The formula for Productivity is: (1+Happy) * (1 + Hungry) * (1 + 2.0 * Environment) * (1 + .5 * Selfie Enlightenment) * (1+ Ships Completed). You can visually understand when your pet is the most productive by the white spark stars you see as you work on ships. The more productive your stars are, the faster they grow, the better they become at
building ships. Eventually, reaching Xanadu faster.

Care Actions
Use the Clean button from the bottom menu to play the minigame where you play a roach stomping minigame. There are 3 environments in the lab, meaning you can clean twice when dirty. It provides +1 to Environment, another invisible meter. It decays at a rate of 1 level per 333.33 seconds. The stars will work faster in a clean place.

Clean up a total of 10 times.

You get hearts feeding the stars with Snacks or from the Games button from the bottom menu where there is a minigame to choose between two hands in which one of them will be a heart. The Health Meter decays at a rate of 1 heart each 47.62 seconds.

Happies.
Fill up hearts 100 times.

The stars has a food bar on the right and they can be fed with burgers using the Food button from the bottom menu. It works as +2 to Hungry Meter. The food bar decays at a rate of 1 hamburger per 83.33 seconds.

Om Nom Noms.
Eat 100 burgers.

As stated on hearts section, there is a minigame from Games. It's a guess direction minigame. You will get as many hearts as you guess, if you get 1/3 it means +1, if you get 3/3 you get +3 hearts. Finish all the three picks from it for the total played games to increase.

Clicky.
Play games a total of 50 times.

Use the Selfie button from the bottom menu. You don't need to take a screenshot, just have to click on the Selfie button. This action provides for entertainment of the game, it matters when trying to balance out your star’s well-being. The only feature in the game that allows you to get a variety of random silly and cute faces the stars make. It works as +1 to Enlightenment/Selfie. This provides for Enlightenment, another invisible meter. 4 slots to fill, music changes based on level. Decays at a rate of 1 level per 166.66 seconds.

Star Statuses
Use the Snacks button from the bottom menu to give snacks to experience sugar rush. This happens when you feed your star too much sugar. Counter that goes down with time, decays at a rate of 1 per 1 second. Each snack you give adds 8 seconds to the sugar rush counter. At 4
happy a snack adds 16 to the sugar rush. 5 or more happy adds 24 to sugar rush. Once sugar rush hits 20 your star goes into sugar high mode. If the Sugar Rush counter is higher than zero productivity is cut in half. Once the Sugar Rush counter reaches 20 no work can be done.

Experience sugar rush 10 times.

When your star works for long and gets exhausted, it will sleep. Counter adds 1 per second of work done. Once it hits 30 minutes the character goes to sleep and cannot do anything. The sleep counter goes down while sleeping at a rate of 3 per second. Characters can sleep while not in the lab. Sleep only adds once you have built 100 ships.

Zzz.
Have your star fall asleep 10 times.

Every 100 seconds there is a 10% chance your star will get sick. When sick it will not do any actions or work and it is a green hue. If your star has zero health and zero happy it has a 10% chance of getting sick every 15 seconds and these sicknesses count to the death counter. Whenever your pet gets sick, it requires medical attention. Use the Health button from the bottom menu to heal the star. It works as 50 Percent chance of healing sickness. This button only works when sick.

Sicky Pooh.
Heal your stars a total of 10 times.

Unhealthy pets die. This is a permanent status. Once the star is sick for 5 minutes the death counter starts and once it reaches 30 minutes the character dies. Also, once the character gets sick 5 times with your star having no hearts in the happy meter, and no burgers in the hungry meter. You will be able to hatch a new star, but it won’t have the same information profile.

Oh Noes!
Let at least one star die.
