Introducing the ONRC - ‘Frontier’ class Patrol Boat



"One of the many blueprints transported on the Mainstay Arks, the 'Frontier' class Patrol Boat was mass produced by the ONRC for a variety of different functions, from dockyard protection, to escort duty, to hunting down pirates. The vessel is seen used by both Military and Government Police forces, although typically sports its signature army green in combat. The most recognisable feature of the Frontier, are its bow mounted multi-purpose modules. Generally they feature magnetic clamps for use when boarding enemy ships, but are also commonly seen with spotlights for search and rescue efforts, additional rockets when a Mainstay is unavailable, and even welding and grinding modules for make-shift repairs and salvage. The true power of the Frontier is not in its size, but the variety of uses it can serve."

The 'Frontier' features 2 Gatling Turrets, 2 Assault Turrets, and 2 Rocket Launchers. On the bow, are customizable multipurpose modules, and on the stern are deployable Decoys. The vessel runs off of 3 Small Reactors, and 16 Batteries, and also features and Assembler, 3 O2/H2 generators, 1 large and 1 small hydrogen tank, 1 gravity generator, and 1 beacon set to 10,000m range.



The Frontier was given the classification Patrol Boat in most part due to its light armament and modular capabilities. If given heavier weapons, it could arguably serve as a light corvette, however would be a small one by comparison to others in the Horizons Edge universe, and would be of little use by comparison.

Patrol boats in real life typically have a wide variety of different roles, and often do many different jobs with different operators, and that is exactly what I wanted to exemplify when building this ship. I want players to be able to customize the modules however they see fit, be it as an overpowered combat miner, or a vessel to extort helpless engineers who have only started out 30 minutes ago, whatever the needs, I hope the Frontier can provide.

Whilst this clearly didn't take as much time as my previous project (less than one day to be precise xP) I hope you still find it to be of the quality I try to present with the rest of my submissions. I enjoyed getting back to basics and producing a small design, and I hope you find this to be an improvement to my ever-growing collection of Patrol Boats.

Like with the Mainstay, I have tried to give the Frontier a good meld of functionality and form. I feel that specifically this is a good example as I have had both a Form based and Function based patrol boat released to the workshop prior, in the form of the RCL - Maelstrom and SEPD - Enforcer respectively. Like before, I hope you will agree this is the case (and I also hope it doesn't get shot out instantly in the inevitable testing that will be performed on it). As always tell me what you think in the comments below.

@Locomotor79, because the module and the decoy-layer are attached by merge blocks, they are part of the same grid and can thus be welded.

I know this because the decoys are welded from the SAME projector as the rest of the ship.

its a nice looking ship however the front part needs to be a seperate Bleuprint
since iff you make this through a projector you whont be able to make front part whit the connectors and the magnatic panels/landinggear

@AHPO Arthur, this version has hydrogen thrust, however there is no version with all/primary hydrogen thrust if that's what you're asking.
