Name your character at creation Axcedor or Gardakan to become a barbarian or a wizard respectively. Thanks @Thundereagle

Naming yourself Lachhh makes you tiny. Thanks @Shinge42

Naming yourself swordcedor starts you with a sword.
Naming yourself kojaktsl replaces some dialogue with derpy stuff. Many thanks @TemmieNeko

By using the "Konami code" (up,up,down,down,left,right,left,right, a, b) in the title screen, you start a new game as John Contra, having 30 lives (in total, they do NOT refill at save statues) with a machine gun and a completely different moveset when unlocking the later movement skills.

Naming yourself Stranger will make you a certain halloween character. It should be unlocked by default, just for completion's sake. Also, that guy can't use potions, since he needs his belt for... something else.

Just confirming that the face buttons for the Konami code are reversed. It should be "b" then "a". As pressing the "a" button launches the game. As written the game will immediately enter then exit the main menu. You want your last button press to be "a" and that will send you to the alternate title screen.

I hope they add the ability to play as good Alcedor and Cervul while doing an evil playthrough at some point
