(Z) Lifted Wheel Suspension

This mod adds modified lifted suspension to the game to increase ground clearance. Design large rover chassis how you want them to look rather than how you have to in order to not bottom out. That being said, a lifted w4sted chassis design is still the king on that front (shown in the last screenshot).

The suspension blocks use vanilla wheels to retain vanilla wheel collision. The exceptions are the 4x4 and 2x2 wheels that I modeled, and both the small grid 1x1s so I could maximize their height offset to make the most OP surveillance rovers SE has ever seen.

• Small and large grid: 5x5, 4x4, 3x3, 2x2, and 1x1 rover and offroad lifted wheel suspension
  
• Higher ground clearance: approximately two blocks higher at lowest offset for 5x5s
  
• Higher offset range: between -2.0 and 2.0 meters for large grid 5x5s
  
• Faster turning at high speeds for large grid suspension
  
• Versatile mount points: on five sides of the block
  
• Build larger rovers: higher offset range means that on average more wheels are on the ground doing work
  
• Offroad suspension lower triangle count: 21,678 versus 56,082
  
• Good LODs and construction LODs
  
• Tire trails for all modded wheels
  
• Compatible with skins
  
• Supports localization for Chinese, Czech, English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish

When vanilla 5x5 and lifted 5x5 height offsets are set as high up as they can go, there’s only about a 1 block difference in height. Much of the height difference is in the higher offset range, so your rovers won't be two blocks higher as mentioned above unless you crank up your strength. The extra ground clearance and vertical range is worth the heightening of mass in many cases. However, for taller profile vehicles you might want to widen your wheelbase by a block or so on each side since you have the extra ground clearance.

Lifted suspension must be initially mounted like vanilla suspension, but there is a mount point on top as well. Once you have a block supporting it from above, you can remove blocks on the back of the suspension and optionally mount another suspension to it facing the other way.
When you mount lifted suspension from the top of its block to the bottom of your chassis, you can heighten your ground clearance even farther. This further mitigates the chance of bottoming out after a high speed landing from a big jump, for instance. For most rovers though, mounting them as suspension are intended to be mounted gives you just enough extra ground clearance to rest easy.

Especially since this mod uses mostly vanilla wheels, all issues with Keen wheels will persist with this mod. I haven’t been able to fix a few things with vanilla wheels, such as small grid 3x3 wheels shaking uncontrollably at high speeds, and right side suspension going in reverse when setting propulsion override to positive. Small grid wheels in general don’t interact with voxels very well.

This mod may throw errors about problems with the models. I confirmed with veteran modders in the Keen discord that these errors are themselves erroneous. "Indeed." - Digi
