Morocco is a country in North Africa, bordering Algeria and Western Sahara (which it claims). Morocco is a multi-cultural country, home to Arabs, Berbers, French, and Spanish. Morocco has a storied history of war and peace, alliances and rivalries, ruined hopes and dreams, and having a cool name.

As some people say, Morocco first appeared as the Idrisid dynasty in 788 AD. It did not appear on the world stage, however, until the Saadi dynasty in 1554. In 1578, Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur used his powerful army and strategic location to make his country powerful during the Renaissance in Europe and Africa.

However, it finally fell to France and Spain during the Scramble for Africa, but gained independence in the 1950s. Today it remains one of the most stable Muslim countries in the world.

Receives +3 Gold and +1 Culture for each Trade Route with a different civ or City-State. The Trade Route owners receive +2 Gold for each Trade Route sent to Morocco.

Morocco's unique ability should be taken advantage of, so build some caravans and cargo ships to take full advantage of this. Build kasbahs to provide gold to a city. You may want to build the Petra wonder as soon as possible. Because of this ability, a cultural victory is most likely for Morocco.

As Morocco, take advantage of the Berber cavalry to create a large defensive army. I like to build kasbahs on all hills without resources and on desert tiles, and then defend them with Berber cavalry, but that's just me.

The Berber cavalry replaces the cavalry, and has a combat bonus on desert tiles and your territory. It has no defensive terrain bonus, and a penalty against cities. It requires 1 horses and military science. It can move after attacking.

Rather than a second unique unit or a unique building, the Moroccans have a unique improvement: the kasbah. The kasbah can only be built on desert tiles and requires chivalry. It provides +1 food, +1 production, and +1 gold to the nearest city. It also gives a 50% defensive bonus to a unit stationed on this tile. It is extremely useful on desert hills, which already give +2 production.

To win as Morocco, you should establish many trade routes with civs and city-states for culture and gold. Found the religion Islam and adopt the freedom ideology. You should build the Petra wonder, and a large defensive army with Berber cavalry, and fortify them on desert hills with no resources. It should be easy to ally yourself with city-states.
