I think these topics are a bit unrelated with this mod, but I did reply in there and I hope it helped you. ;)
I don't think it's necessary to convert straw and plants into rope just to sell it for a bit more money... all plants can already be used as ingredient to craft many different things like bread and other food, which can be used or sold for much more margin than what the rope could do.
Though Interactive World introduces a lot of storage baskets (which don't create an outpost), but you need rice-straw to build them. Hence I introduced the rope so you can build these baskets starting from wheat and hemp. ;)

and also recently here in case fcs can help in future:

my current game has a lot of mods and some are incompatible i think with interactive world (so i have it but not enabled in this game) but was wondering something...
is it possible to have this type of feature of turning plant matter into ropes, as a standalone mod that doesnt need interactive world? (for example, we could spend some research / time / materials, to turn space items into rope, which could sell for a bit more than the actual items were worth when unprocessed).
also, i have seen (and have been saving) lots of rag armour, and straw sandals (which unfortunately have a 0 value, but it could be really cool to be able to put Straw Sandals as an input, and get straw as an output
Straw Sandals > Straw
Straw > Rope (but it would take time to do) :o)
