If you hold the Shift key while clicking, you can build the next piece of track instantly

if you hold Ctrl key while, the track will be straightend out, based on your previous node. So you can build really straight tracks

If you hold the Alt Key, the tracks will switch sides

1. go into edit mode
2. select the node
3. click on pick parent
4. click on another node/ remove the offset constraint
5. define the offset

1. Branch the track on both side before and after a node
2. connect the the branches with Alt - Key (so the tracks switch side)
3. select the branche nodes, click on pick parent and select the node of the main track
4. set the offset to 0

1. Build a track piece
2. build another track piece next to it (doesn't need to be excact)
3. select the end node of the freshly build track
4. go into building mode
5. click on the node and extend the tracks and voila, we are done
