RIN was a young girl that had pale skin, pink hair and red highlights, and blue eyes. She wore a white polo, pink suspenders, a pink plaid skirt, and an eggplant colored sash. When she was in her Herrscher form, she took on the form of black mist. As Hellmaru, she had pink and red fur, a white and pink sash, nine tails, and a tomoe mark on the head.



As Higokumaru, she became smaller, chibi-like, and grew fox ears and six mini tales.

Prior to RIN being the 12th Herrscher, she seemed to be a cheerful, happy, and nice girl. But after she got imprisoned by MOTH, she was incredibly desperate to see her sister SAKURA again. According to SAKURA, RIN hated to be alone and being imprisoned in the 33rd floor of MOTH's underground base did not help this, as she grew more afraid and lonely with each passing day.



A group of MOTH soldiers disobeyed Dr. MEI's orders and killed RIN. As RIN was dying, she saw the soldiers cheering about her death.



This made her incredibly angry and placed a seed of hatred in her heart. When her powers awoke, she became extremely vengeful and wrathful: she infected all of the soldiers, trapped all MOTH units in their base, and destroyed the remaining three cities of the Previous Era. However, Dr. MEI said the Herrscher behaved aberrantly in her final moments and SAKURA claimed that "[She] was with her... she was still [her] sis... till the very end..."



But after she was sealed by MEI in the Black Box, RIN became numb to the flow of time and only hatred was left in her heart.
