Canonnière-Torpille

The Canonnière-Torpille was vital to the Pari Raiding fleet, economical and was well adapted to it’s role as the workhorse for the Strike Groups. Designed by the lately formed “Détachement d'Attrition” which focused on designing ships for the purpose of raiding and sieging Pari’s enemies. Utilising the recently developed Torpedo produced by the “Compagnie d'artillerie de Normandi”.

The Canonnière-Torpille was used thoroughly in the Raiding of Londo’s shipping, the clearing rebel positions in Mardi or the sieging of cities and towns on the exposed flanks in Mosco. With little change from the versatile Escourtuér-Rapide it performed similarly in combat although to fit the Torpedo Bay the front-most cannon and it’s ammo storage had to be removed. This meant that it was advisable to not be stuck in long engagements as per doctrine to stick to raiding and sieging as the Surface fleet had ships a lot more capable to such a role.

The Canonnière-Torpille was invaluable to Pari’s agility in taking over territory and without it, Pari would’ve been heavily limited in the speed it relied on crucially ultimately causing an even quicker collapse.
