描述
"The Ardennes Offensive: The Battle of the Bulge, December 1944 is an historical simulation of the German attempt to break through the Allied front in the Ardennes region during winter 1944/45. The historical scenario covers the period December 16th through January 2nd, and portrays the actual forces which converged on the battlefield. Several optional scenarios permit the "What if?" possibilities of battle to be simulated."

The German unit counters and the victory point counters for the Germans are done for here...

Sad that it doesn't work for me. No way to move german units. I was looking forward to playing.

I've gotten my butt kicked in Battle of the Bulge '65 twice so far playing as the US (where I am now in chronologically playing through the games). The difference in the CRT between the Basic Game and the Tournament game is quite significant in that game alone. Huge progress from the CRTs used in the games Avalon Hill published before it (Waterloo, Afrika Korps). I mean if I roll a 6 on 2-1 odds attacking and get eliminated one more time... I would flip the table in real life :)

I haven't played either unfortunately so I can't really comment. I usually look to the CRT structure though. If it's the same basic CRT then the game design generally isn't new. It's when designers discovered column shifts and modifiers and 2D6 that things stared to change outside that model as well. The 60's, 70's, and even 80's weren't that transformative IMO. It's debatable of course. :)

I'm interested to see the difference between Avalon Hill's Battle of the Bulge '65 and this one. How much game design progress was there in 8 years?

Bravo Zulu! Can't ever have too many Bulge games. :)
