I run the same settings he listed but i never changed anything with the config file, also i get ALOT better fps. In the guide he states to CAP fps in game and it makes it smoother, but my experience was the opposite.
For Example: When i capped my fps in game to 80, after playing a bit my fps would drop to 20-30fps regardless of biome.
But when i would cap my fps to 140 (just below my monitor refresh rate) in game, it would settle to 80fps at the lowest. I found that the biome has a huge influence on fps, as i get 80-90 in the forest biome, 100+ in the desert and arctic biomes. In caves my fps would go up to 125 even.
During beta i could not even play the game and requested a refund, i would only get 25fps regardless of settings so release helped me alot, glad i gave it another chance.
