1 simple way to know if you are being invaded.

Ok, this isn't really a guide, but hey, it's my first ever.

step 1: press ESC

step 2: Are objects or people moving the in background? (if moving, go to step 3, if they arn't, go to step 4)

step 3: "So people are moving in the background. Big deal," Yes, this is a big deal, this shows if someone else is in your game. If you pause, the game wont pause and they'll just hack you while your away.

step 4: Find and kill someone.

Other crap: If you do this and you WANT to be invaded (you freak,) you shouldn't do any of this. Pausing the game makes it so that no one can join. Even though it may even be for a second.

step 5: comment on guide (preferably good comments please.)

The game does not pause during the map or online contracts menu.

You're unable to be hacked if you are searching for a game online.

Another way to tell if someone is hacking you is no online, crime, convoy, etc, notifications will popup, and you will be unable to start any missions or join a gambling game like the shell game or chess for example.

(Please be free to tell me if I am missing anything and/or if any of this is wrong. I'm sure it is not wrong though.)

People who pointed out any of my mistakes, thank you for doing so. It allows me to make the guide as best as I can.

how to fix multiplayer not working:
get the ubisoft store copy of the game
beat the first mission
multiplayer should unlock shortly after
same should happen with the steam version when you play

the reason this happens is (and this is my assumption so don't fully take my word on it) ubisoft messed up and doesn't give proper "permission" to your account to access multiplayer because it doesn't recognize steam copies properly.

i take it they never bothered fixing it and kept it that way (probably for more money because it's ubisoft)
if you'd like you can copy and paste this message to people who need it and haven't solved this problem.

what the fuck people can invade my game? Is it a feature or is it malicious? Idk anything about watchdogs I got the game last year and just started playing a few days ago

step 6. the profiler will close on its own when someone invades your game.

When you are on foot, and your phone is out. you will put your phone away and hear the sound thereof when someone enters your game. I have caught many an invader this way as I like being on foot.

you can also check using 'focus'. The game won't slow down, you'd just get the screen effect while moving at normal speed

servers havent shut down lmao, got invaded yesterday lmao
