I hopefully have fixed the cloning bug. Also, the Advance Timer on the first turn has been disabled.
Thanks again for the help! Happy gaming, MAC!
(Start...)
The Time track advancing was intentional! On p.10 of the rule book: 1-Resolve story, 2-Move time track, 3-Players turn. If it should not advance on the first turn that would be an easy fix. To be honest, it was a bit of a pain to implement it as it is now.
As to the second bug, I did not wind up buying this game, so I don't play it much. Because of that I have not play tested it extensively, and I greatly appreciate having a play-tester to help me. It sounds like a bug I had at the start of the year. When building a deck from single cards, all in one frame, I would wind up with duplicates. It might have been this mod that I am thinking of - too many irons in the fire. (The curse of retirement - I can do what I want, when I want, so - I jump from one to the next. Ha, ha.)
If I remember right, I just spaced the cards out more, which allowed them to gravitate naturally into a deck. That causes a little more delay for the user, but stopped the cloning.
I have some time at the moment, and a need for a distraction. My Mother (83) is in the hospital and will need surgery. All prays are gladly welcomed, as is the distraction! And so, I will check it out. I do love a challenge!
Also, let me know if you believe that the time advance on the first turn needs removed.
I've noticed two other minor bugs. The setup card correctly configures the Time Tracker but upon starting the game from there, it causes the Time Tracker to skip ahead a step, causing players to start one time-step ahead than the setup instructs.
The second bug seems to occur with the story decks as well. Not entirely sure what the root cause is, but seems to spawn an extra setup card at the beginning sometimes, and the Next Story Card button produces an error, causing the whole script to exit.
This is the error message:
Error in Script (Table - 14530e) function <NextStory>:chunk_3(2583,66-69): attempt to index a nil value
I know it can be a lot to keep up development, but I really appreciate your work here. I've introduced several friend groups to this game purely by playing your wonderful mod.
Best wishes,
TOHP
Thanks for the kind words. Please, let me know if you notice any other bugs, flaws, or have ideas to improve the mod.
Happy Gaming, MAC.
