The Fix
This is what worked for me.:

- Go to graphics card settings and set max frame rate for DoW 2 to the max of your monitors refresh rate. Example: 240 hz monitor so I set my max fps to 240.

- Update sound drivers. Go to motherboard support site and download latest sound drivers.

- Get Windows 11. Made a difference.

For what it's worth, I'm playing on Linux Mint 20.3 and playing Retribution using unofficial Proton GE 6.1 for Windows games compatibility. Playing on Linux makes you immune to soundbug, and version Proton GE 6.1 makes you immune to Linux desync problems.

Ive updated all drivers too. The solution (partly) was to use USB sound audio card. I have sound bug much less now

It used to work but has stopped. Now fix is to update sound drivers.
