How it Works
In order to stream from one machine to another you must have Steam installed and be logged in on both devices. Each device must be connected on the same network with port 27036 accessible.

To make sure your devices are connecting to one another and to adjust your streaming settings go to "Steam > Settings > In-Home Streaming". The list will show the device name and the connection status.

If the devices are connected when you attempt to play a game which is not installed locally but installed on the other machine a button labelled "Stream" will appear.

If the game is not installed on either machine a dropdown menu will appear which will allow you to choose which machine you want to install it on.

While streaming your keyboard and mouse inputs will be sent back-and-forth over the network. The machine that's hosting the stream will use most of the resources running the game and processing the video and audio feed.

For more information on how in-home streaming works check out the diagram below.
