METHOD 1: Boot up the game
Install the game and play it. This is when it's supposed to pop up.
METHOD 2: Start up a level
If it hasn't popped up yet, start any chapter.
METHOD 3: Verify integrity of game cache
This is what worked for me. Exit the game and open its properties, then click 'Verify integrity of game files'. It should validate some missing files and download them.



After it is complete, boot the game up again and repeat step 1 and 2 to see if you get the achievement.
METHOD 4: Reinstall the entire game
Some people report that they need to reinstall the entire game. If none of the above methods work for you, then give this a go.
That's it.
Hopefully by now you have earned the achievement. If not, then there's an illegitimate way through using a program that gives you any Steam achievement you want. It's easy to find on Google.

Aight, so for anyone trying to get the achievement to unlock on HL2 now that Valve merged the games:

>Locate the original Episodes under the " Tools " section of your library.
>Run Episode 2
>Exit, and run HL2
>The Achievement should unlock, along with all other EP2 Achievements.
(This also works for EP1 Achievements)

This is what did it for me, anyway.

Hl2 episodes are no more so hl2 is now impossible to 100%

It seems the achievement stats has bugged out now that Valve has hidden the game from everyone's library, so that's why it says 0.0% of players have it when the majority do.

I just got this for the remake when the game was free a few days ago but it says only 0.1% of people have it unlocked which is weird because if it was given to everyone it would say 100% of players have the achievement?

i got this when i was showing to my dad the new ui and fonts and shit
it said 0.0% so i thought i was the only one to have the achievement :P
