E Card from the anime Kaiji with slightly different game rules.

Each player gets 5 cards, Four cards are Citizen cards while the fifth would be an Slave or Emperor

Base rules are the same, One player plays as the Emperor side and the other the Slave side. Slave beats emperor, Citizen beats slave, and Emperor beats citizen. Emperor always play first, he would place his card face down then the slave. Both people reveal their cards at the same time. If both sides place citizen both cards will be discarded and you continue on until there is a victor. When this is over you may then return all cards to your hand.

What is different with my version is the implementation of peons and the way score is kept. Whenever you beat the opponent you must take that players peon, you cannot take your captured peons back to your hand. Once you are out of your own colored peons you lose and the other player get a point. When a player gets the point you switch sides.

The quarter is there to help decide who will play as emperor first because the emperor is at a slight advantage. 4 out of 5 cards are citizens all of which can beat the slave while the slave can only win if a emperor is placed

If you so desire you can play traditional E card which does not implement the peons. You play out of 12 rounds and have each player switch sides once every 3 rounds. Whenever you win a round you immediately score a point
