Although at first it was quite unusual and interesting to get to read files in this way. It would be better if there were some special and few "hidden" files than making most important to the plot notes in game like this.
I haven't play Doom 3, so didn't know there was something like that, curious
Something like Doom 3's now defunct "Martian Buddy" website was fine since it was only two lockers in the entire game. But having what feels like 70% of all in-game texts locked behind an aging http website is just an awful design choice.
