This is the recommended way to go around completing a Deathwish heist, but if the four of you are caught armorless, carrying the worst selection of guns... God help you. So one quick tip would be to have one person attempt stealth whilst the rest hold back heavily geared and ready to go incase things turn sour.

There's a few things that have to be established if you're going to be the one stealthing, it may be obvious considering you've been playing the game for 80+ levels now, why is this not simple yet?
Or otherwise if you've hacked the game to allow yourself to play on the Deathwish difficulty, why stop now? Close this and enjoy ruining your gaming experience.

Otherwise, I hope this guide helps you on your way to being a professional at stealthing heists. Though before you continue on to the first step on stealthing, you must consider one thing:

Don't stealth if you're not the host/if you're lagging.

You'll question the situations you've been put through and you'll have an incredibly tough time stealthing in general, just remember it's not your fault that the guard saw you through two layers of walls, it happens to us all.

Step 1: Concealment/Detection Risk

I can't stress this enough, do NOT attempt to stealth in a high detection risk, the lower the better. If you play in a high detection risk, not only is the likeliness of you being caught increased, but the guard's vision of you is increased, overall, you're gonna be struggling like crazy.

It may be obvious what to do to increase the concealment on your weapons; Mods.
Try not to go too over the top, whilst low detection risk is nice, you still want a strong weapon with you incase anything tragic happened, maybe some reasonably high concealed armor such as the 'Light Ballistic Vest' and the 'Ballistic Vest'.

Some skills in ghost can justify certain mods you place on weapons to take the sting out of reduced damage and other stats on a weapon, this will be covered in Step 2.

It's obvious what the detection affects for most new players, but for those who are still struggling to understand, here are a few examples of what it affects:

- The distance in which you're spotted
- How much more likely you're spotted
- How much quicker you're spotted

Step 2: Skills

This is where your spending cash will emotionally harm you depending on how much you have. Skills are a nice thing to have when it comes down to stealthing. A demonstration will be below of my own personal skill trees alongside why I've picked the different skills and for what reasons, be sure to take notes of this and try to come up with your own ideas for skills.

Using the following skills are optional to the viewer, these are just my personal skills.

Ghost
First off, the Ghost skills are the primary skills for stealthing and for various different reasons.

If you're primarily a stealther who is going into their second infamy level, personal congratulations to you!

But also, be sure to select 'The Assassin Set' These sets will allow you to spend less skill points on the skills that aren't necessary to you.


Sprinter (ACED): I use this to allow myself to move quicker and regenerate my sprint a lot faster, this works effectively with the ability 'Endurance' found in the Mastermind skill tree. Not only that, it'll allow you to have a better chance at dodging enemy fire when you most need it, making you more reliable on suits and light ballistic vests, therefore still maintaining a low detection risk.

Cat Burglar (ACED): In the event of jumping from high places, this skill is conditional, some heists would involve a lot of platforming and can result in you losing health, even slipping on ladders can reult in health loss. Reducing that as much as you can will save yourself from going down.

Fast Hands (ACED): This alone is self explanatory, the less time you take interacting, the quicker you can move on, if you stand around in the same place for too long, you're eventually gonna get caught by someone.

Cleaner (ACED): Whilst the skill is now nerfed due to the Major Stealth Update, it's also handy to allow yourself access to the body bags asset as well as providing yourself with an extra body bag, you never know when you're going to need it.

Shinobi (BASIC): This skill also allows me to move around quickly when I need it the most, This would usually be the most ideal in regards to killing guards without startling anybody nearby, but this has been replaced with the 'Hidden Blade' skill located in the Fugitive skill tree.

ECM Specialist (ACED): ECMs are also important in the stealth role, the more you have, the bigger the advantage you have to the heist. Acing it will make it last aditionally longer and disable pagers whilst they're under the ECMs effect, allowing time for multiple pager answering.

ECM Overdrive (ACED): This will further increase how long the ECM's effect goes on for but also allows you access into security doors when you need it the most, this skill is strongly recommended for deathwish heists when a keycard is tough to get or completely inaccessible.

Lockpicking Expert (ACED): Reducing the time with how long you spend on locks is a nice advantage, but also allowing yourself the ability to crack safes is just as good, it's not commonly used in stealth situations, but when a safe needs opening quickly and neither a saw or C4 is inaccessible, you always have a backup plan. (Unless it's titanium, sorry!)

Mastermind
You can't rely entirely on Ghost to provide you with all of the stealth related skills, some skills for example within Mastermind allow you to purchase additional assets an have more control over civilians.

This should be the second skill tree you should consider adding skills into or otherwise as well as Ghost. If at all you have progressed into the 2nd Infamy level, consider spending an infamy point into 'Set of the Corrupted'.

Cable Guy (ACED): Everybody has this, the more civilians you can control, the less you have to worry about, I guarantee you'll be frowned upon if anybody finds you with only two handties to spare. Spare yourself the shame and get it for yourself.

Enfurance (ACED): As previously mentioned, this is a good combination with sprinter as it will allow you to sprint for longer, but with both skills, you'll also be moving faster and regenerating it all back quicker at the same time.

Control Freak (ACE): Everybody likes an advantage, buying assets is the only way you can accomplish that, this can include additional options inside 'Preplanning'. Buying Control will allow you access into extra assets which you'll find useful, that's if you have the spending cash to afford them.

Spotter (ACED): Another aditional asset access which can especially be helpful for anyone who is stealthing as it'll mark guards that you may not be aware of. This also acts as a good way to weaken special enemies when marked.

Dominator (ACED): This is beneficial in stealth for a couple of good reasons, one being to prevent the guards from shooting their weapons at any point. This will be especially helpful if you ever have a run into any guards within the heist 'Shadow Raid'.

Enforcer
This is a skill you can get quickly out of the way, there are very little skills required from this tree and does not require the player to have any of the infamy sets.

If you're primarily a stealther, this skill section is the least ideal to invest in when going infamy.

Regardless, this will be the third skill tree you'll consider spending points into.


Transporter (ACED): This will assure you that you'll be moving faster with any bag that you're carrying, this is helpful in the event you need to move into hiding as quick as possible.

Technician

You never know when a drill will come in handy, coming well prepared with fully upgraded drills will assure you that you'll have as little trouble as possible getting through things.

Whilst it will not have a huge impact, the 'Set of the Ingenious' is recommended to help save a couple of skill points to spend elsewhere whilst purchasing the skills within this skill tree.


Rifleman (ACED): Firing your weapon will act as a last resort in the event that you're caught by a guard, but this is also to help move up to the later tiers of the skill tree.

Nerves of Steel (BASIC): If you're in a hurry and stealth isn't the case anymore, it's good to take as little damage as possible whilst you're interacting with something.

Sharpshooter (ACED): Once again, this has the same impact as 'Rifleman' does, improved accuracy is beneficial for those guards that spot something suspicious from a distance.

Hardware Expert (ACED): You can never trust your drills, especially when the drilling takes less time than usual. Assuring the drill is constantly running, this skill is highly recommended.

Drill Sergeant (ACED): The less time you spend in one place drilling through something, the less likely it is you'll be seen. Acing this skill assures you the minimum amount of time you can take drilling.

Silent Drilling (ACED): This will assure you that guards and civilians will not be drawn towards the drill, meaning it will give you less trouble in the long run whilst drilling through something.

Step 2.5: The 'Other' Skilltree / Perk Decks

Fugitive
The skill tree later introduced with the 'Hoxton Breakout', this is really only been proven to be beneficial to dodge as many bullets as possible.

But people forget it's great in collaboration with other skills to help benefit a stealther as much as possible. If you've got extra points to spend, this is ideal for you. Purchasing any of the infamy sets will result in the point requirement reduction, so pick whichever one you want!

Daredevil (BASIC): Speed where ever you go or interact with is always helpful, it's all about not spending too much time in one place and move on whenever you can. Acing this wouldn't be necessary for a stealth build.

Hidden Blade (ACED): This is the new alternative for killing guards silently, also the additional concealment given to melee weapons apply to everything, even melee weapons with a concealment already at '30'.

Thick Skin (BASIC): This is primarly used to move up to the next tier, but is also a good substitue for better steadiness when it comes to killing a guard silently.

Run and Gun (BASIC): Having that extra movement speed helps stack with every other skill boost you have purchased in other skilltrees (Does not include interaction speed.).

Sixth Sense (BASIC): This is helpful for one main reason being the ability to be aware of tight corners from any cover you may be hiding behind, if a civilian or guard were nearby, you'd know about it providing you're standing still. Acing this should not be necessary, you'll pick up items that're needed when you're masked up.

Winson Wolfe (BASIC): This skill in association with the body bag asset will come useful in emergency situations when you need more than a couple of guards bagged. Be sure to collect a body bag before moving on.

Perk Decks

Almost every perk deck are equally beneficial to stealthing as well as they're not that beneficial to begin with. Every perk deck will have one specific perk and is unlocked as the fourth perk.

Blending In
"You gain +1 increased concealment."

This will give you additional concealment and will go towards your concealment, other than that, there are not a whole lot of other perks that are as helpful. Once again, this will appear in every available perk deck, so it doesn't matter which once you decide to invest into.

Crew Chief (Marathon Man)

The least useless 'free' perk deck that's available to you and helps just that little extra bit in stealthing situations is 'Crew Chief', mainly because of its ability to provide you with additional stamina after unlocking the third perk.






Burglar

The sad truth about this perk deck is that it's the most beneficial for stealthers, but it comes at a price. But if you're willing to pay up, you'll be giving yourself some of these great advantages:

- Bagging Corpses faster (20%)
- Lockpicking even faster (20%)
- Answering pagers faster (10%)

Step 3: Practice and Profit

You're all set and ready to go, with your skills spent and weapons highly concealed, though it doesn't mean you're not entirely ready to go. You've gotta learn more about the AI of the game and how they work.

Guards work almost the same way the monsters from 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent' work, or how the AI of Deus Ex: Human Revolution work. For those who don't know what these games are, I'll explain it briefly: "If you can't see them, they can't see you."

You can hide behind the smallest obstacle, but if you can't stare at them directly, then they won't manage to see you at all.

Don't play if you lag.

As previously mentioned, lag is absolutely no fun, and the outcome of it is whatever it wants to be, you'll be blamed and most likely kicked as you're the one responsible if you CHOOSE to stealth under those conditions, be sure you're the host if at all possible. Otherwise, just be extra careful with how you handle things.

Make Decisions

Since you're the one stealthing, you'll have to think on your own, you're practically in control of most/the entire heist so you're depended on to keep things going smoothly.

You must think before you make a decision, turning a corner may be one of the biggest mistakes you'll ever make, be sure no guard is around the corner instead of surprising yourself. If you're unsure, find another way around and don't risk it.

Be ready to place down an ECM for anything, guards usually alert the police faster than you can put down anything to stop them, have one at the ready at all times, you'll need a plan for everything.

Don't be afraid of cameras.

You have absolutely nothing to fear, they will take far too long to be alerted and you'll be gone before you know it, most of the time, it's always possible to disable them by finding the security room, so they won't be a problem for too long.

Whilst Camera Loop is nice, it's only situational and it's something you know you've got to use when you have to, there's no such thing as 'Quickly looping the camera' after killing a guard.

Stay Low

This is important in the stealthing role, standing will get you caught quick, sprinting will get you caught even quicker. The key to some heists is patience, take things slowly in order to play things safely and keep yourself undetected by guards.

Crouching will keep you invisible under almost every circumstance.

Aside from that you're ready to go and lurk in the shadows, I wish you the best of luck in what you achieve from this guide. Now get out.

Going infamy or recovering back to a high level after going infamy can be proven a challenge. But that 'oughta be because the available shortcuts aren't considered. This section is going to cover all of the options available to you as a stealther.

Stealth Bonuses
Take advantage of them whenever you can get one. All heists reward you a different percentage of a stealth bonus depending on how many days involve you stealthing as well as the difficulty of the heist, too.

You can lose your Stealth Bonus if you:
- Fail the next heist after receiving it.
- Completing the heist (This will consume the bonus.)
- Terminate the next heist after receiving it.

The Fast and Rewarding Heists

Whilst experience is needed to reach 'Level 100' once again, it's also nice to have a lot of offshore at hand, too. However, that isn't the case for some people as well as yourself if you're within the third infamy or above.

Framing Frame PRO Job (750k+ EXP) - This may not be fast, but the experience will send your leveling progress flying. You can reduce the time this heist takes to complete by stealing the minimum amount of paintings and disregarding the gold to make it roughly 20-30 minutes.

Not to mention the Stealth Bonus will be great to use on a very rewarding heist.

Big Oil (750K+ EXP) - This is to not be attempted by anyone new to stealthing, but for those looking for a rewarding challenge, this is for you. Come prepared with a well geared crew for the second day as it will only allow you to stealth for so long. This can be completed in 15-20 minutes.

Firestarter PRO Job (650k+ EXP) - Whilst it's not all that quick to complete, the experience is amazing when paired with a Stealth Bonus. Be sure to bring along a good crew for the first day, the rest is all up to you or whomever else is stealthing.

The Diamond (450k+ EXP) - This can be completed within 10-20 minutes, the diamond is expensive enough as it is, so do not waste time with artifacts.

Big Bank (650k+ EXP) - As long as you stick to the minimum bags, this can be completed within 20-30 minutes depending on if you're doing this with a crew or by yourself. Getting more bags will take a much longer time.

Shadow Raid (400k+ EXP) - This can be completed within 10-20 minutes if your main focus is getting the minimum amount of bags. Staying around to collect as much loot as you can will cost you more time.

GO Bank (450k+ EXP) - VERY rewarding in terms of how much experience you receive. This can also be completed between 15-20 minutes with a good crew to help.

Infamy Points

After your first infamy level, the infamy tree begins to branch out into four different sections. It's good to take the time to reach into each tier set instead of going for whiever one is the most good looking mask-wise.

If you're someone who uses the majority of the Fugitive skill tree more than anything else, this will not be a concern for you since any of the tier sets will provide you with the bonus to reduce the skill points requirement.

The Assassin Set
Reduces the skill points requirement for each tier by 10% in the Ghost skill tree.
A lot of your stealthy skills come from the ghost skill tree. A lot of the skills below the fourth tier are useless when it comes to stealthing, saving skill points for the more useful skills is just as good as avoiding the bad skills that consume them.

The sooner you can grab your ECMs skills, the better.

Set of the Corrupted
Reduces the skill points requirement for each tier by 10% in the Mastermind skill tree.
Admitedly, it's all down to personal preference whether or not to get this set or the 'Set of the Ingenious' first. Spend a second point on this set if you play both a stealther and loud-goer, this will allow you to spend less skill points and get to important skills (Such as Inspire) quicker.

Getting this allows you to reach dominator quicker.

Set of the Ingenious
Reduces the skill points requirement for each tier by 10% in the Technician skill tree.
Spend a second skill point in this otherwise if you want those drill skills quicker without the need of wasting your skill points in some of the more useless skills that aren't so stealthy.

Purchasing this set allows you to completely avoid all of the tripmine and sentry gun skills.

The Slaughterhouse Set
Reduces the skill points requirement for each tier by 10% in the Enforcer skill tree.
This should be the last infamy point to spend due to the fact the benefit you receive from the bonus is hardly visible. The only skills that help with stealthing exist in the first tier and no other.

So to put it briefly, this is pretty useless to all stealthers.

It looks like more and more heists are getting the support of The Dentist and his flawless ability to have favours returned to him in order to give the Payday gang the advantage of the situation.

But some people are still confused, how does it all work?

This section will cover the explanation behind preplanning and what's the most ideal way of spending the favours to help stealth the heist rather than go loud. Take a look at the subsections for the heist you're looking for.

This section is still being worked on and not all of the heists have been covered yet, but will be in the future!

How do I get to Preplanning? - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell, really? Well, alright.

Select a heist that supports preplanning, some of them do not, and this is how you'll tell if the heist/day you're currently in the lobby too allows you to use it:

You'll find in the available tabs a section called "PREPLANNING", this means this heist supports such an option.

Sometimes a heist will not have this feature but instead will have "ASSETS", meaning you can only purchase assets instead of plan out the ones you want instead.


When you go to the Preplanning tab, you'll have either one or two things depending on the DLC you've purchased. If you've purchased the Gage Courier DLC, you'll also receive a mini asset to tell you that you've... Purchased the DLC.

But we're not focusing on that, click on the much larger option that says "ENTER PREPLANNING"


What is all of this ♥♥♥♥?

You're now in preplanning, where you purchase assets that you can use to your advantage, considering this is a stealth only guide, we will be focusing on the more important assets that focus more on the stealthy approach.

But first, a little explanation on Preplanning:


This is what it all looks like, pretty shiny stuff. It'll be confusing to anyone on the first glimpse, but it's very straight forward once you know what everything does and what it affects as a whole.

Favors and Total Cost

The assets you purchase count as 'favors', some would cost more than a single favor to afford, so be careful, you're only given a limited amount to use.


These assets also cost money on the side and is taken from your spending cash, so be sure to make these assets count and not let them go to waste.


Upon purchasing something, it is deducted from your favors left and also adds to the 'Total Cash'. This is the money you'll be spending towards using these assets within the heist, so don't go too crazy unless you're desperate to get the best advantage possible.

Drawing Tools

You're also given some drawing tools to use, don't get too excited or you might just end up being kicked.

This is used in rare conditions such as circling an asset that requires a majority vote or circling a location to go to.


This is often used in loud situations to mark out locations to hold out and where to move onto next and at what given time, like a visual idea for other players in the game. But otherwise, there's no need for it right now.

This will cover everything that is ideal for stealthing the Bank Heist successfully on any difficulty up to Deathwish.

This also includes:

- Bank Heist
- Bank Heist: Deposit
- Bank Heist: Cash
- Bank Heist: Gold

Firestarter day 3 does NOT support preplanning yet.

This heist is possible to complete all by yourself, and this will assure you that you're prepared to do so. It's up to you whether ot not you want to do this as a group, but solo is also an option and would still take the same amount of time to complete.

Be sure to come well equipped with a low concealment and the following skills:

Ghost
ECM Overdrive (ACED)
It's never guaranteed that you'll find keycards laying about for every door that you come across, if you want those security cameras dead, you'll always have an ECM to break into the room and take them down. Otherwise it's also good for the server room as well if you struggle to find a keycard in the beginning and rather not risk being seen during the search.
Mastermind
Cable Guy (ACED)
A lot of civilians are going to be in your way, so it's important to be prepared with cable ties. Killing them will be your last resort due to the the infinite spawning civilians who walk into the bank. If you do this right, you'll only be using a total of 5-6 cable ties.

Technician
Silent Drilling (ACED)
In the event that you fail to find the keys to the vault along the way, this will be helpful breaking into them. They're silent, guards won't hear them, so you'll be in no danger what so ever.

This will cover everything that is ideal for stealthing the Framing Frame heist successfully on any difficulty up to Deathwish.

Considering this heist is multi-day, each day is seperated into two individual videos within this same section. It is also important to get the following skills for the entirety of this heist as it benefits the majority of the days:

Ghost
ECM Specialist (BASIC)
The more ECMs you have, the better, pager delays shouldn't be a problem providing you don't touch any guards. This is also good in association with 'ECM Overdrive', allowing you to open more than one door if you really need to.


ECM Overdrive (ACED)
This will allow you to open any of the security doors, allowing you to have more favours to spend on other things that are also important to you. So no sacrifices have to be made, you'll be more prepared for the heist, the only downside would be how much time you'll be spending opening the doors. Watch out for cameras and keep your concealment low.
Fugitive
Sixth Sense (BASIC)
Sixth Sense is helpful for anybody who either works solo preferably or most of the time, allowing you to know whether or not a guard is infront of the vault from the inside.



Day One (This applies to Art Gallery, too.)

This preplanning is recommended for solo runs and can be even more effective with somebody accompanying you. It is a good idea to get to get ECM Specialist for this day because it means being able to open the security door with an ECM, providing you with 2 extra favours to spend.

Day Two

Preplanning is not available for this day.

Day Three

This preplanning is recommended for at least 2 heisters, this allows the player to get ahold of gold easily and with less worry. The Bag Shortcut asset is NOT important, it can be replaced with Body Bags if you're more comfortable killing a few guards.

It's a good idea to get ECM Specialist for this day because the security rooms are good places to hide coke/gold bags without them being seen.

This will cover everything that is ideal for stealthing the Shadow Raid heist successfully on any difficulty up to Deathwish.

The results of the heist will also differ depending on what the helicopter is dropping off, you have much more luck if a container is dropped off. That would mean less guards to deal with and more potential loot for you to grab.

Similar to Bank Heist and Shadow Raid, there are no skills that are strongly recommended that would benefit you a great amount. This can be completed with little to no stealth related skills at all.

This will cover everything that is ideal for stealthing the The Diamond heist successfully on any difficulty up to Deathwish.

This heist can be stealthed successfully solo on the Deathwish difficulty, it's important to bring the following skills with you due to a few problems that can occur without them:

Ghost
ECM Specialist (BASIC)
You never know if you'll ever come across cameras overlooking an area you need to lockpick open, using an ECM will provide you with enough time to get it open before the ECM runs out.


Lockpicking Expert (ACED)
There are going to be a lot of doors throughout this heist, bringing this skill assures you get through those doors as quickly as possible, reducing the chance of being caught in the process.


Mastermind
Cable Guy (ACED)
There are going to be civilians that need to be tied up and moved out of sight due to the keycard issue in the heist. Bringing extra cable ties will help incase you accidentally bump into a third or more.

Here we'll be covering some advice on how to stealth GO Bank successfully.

It is recommended at least three crew members have the skill 'Cable Guy ACED' from the Mastermind skill tree, providing a total of 20 handties between all of you. The best method of stealthing this would be to attack from the back of the bank.

Here is the recommended method of handling the bank:

Be sure at least one person comes well prepared with an ECM, place it down and everyone run into the bank.

- Have 1-2 people take care of the two guards within the bank and answer the pagers.
- Have 1 person shoot every possible camera both inside and outside of the bank before the ECM runs out.
- Have 1 person handtie and control the civilians whilst waiting for everyone else to finish their roles.

Finally, with the bank under control and all civilians tied up, begin moving them one by one to the back of the bank and make sure the bank is entirely empty before placing in the two keycards. If you don't have a keycard, be sure to let other players know before they insert them.

Placing in the keycards beforehand will force the timelock to begin, this would mean:

- Phone will begin to ring and will HAVE to be answered, also risking the possibility of Gensec guards coming to visit.
- Civilians will spawn in great amounts to a point they will be impossible to control, sometimes entering the bank at random times.

During this time it will also be a good idea to search for planks to board up the windows, this limits the civilian's vision if they were passing by, making it easier to control and move hostages without being seen.

Finally, onto the next stages, you have all of the civilians in the car park and the keycards in the slots:

- Have one person under the desk and ready to answer the phone but also staying out of sight of
civilians that roam into the empty bank.
- Have one person on the roof to check for civilians outside or watching over civilians from the skylight, this may also be helpful for handling Gensec guards that drive in.
- Have the remaining two sit beside civilians, ready to catch any more that can appear.

Due to the Major Stealth Update as well as the ability to move civilians, it is an unusual situation for a civilian to be in when they walk into the bank and no tied up hostages in sight. Due to how the game is coded, this puts the civilians in a false, panicking state and can sometimes force them to run into the back of the bank and into the carpark.

Listen out for the phonecalls as sometimes they can matter depending on the situation, they can be either of the following:

- Nonesense and does not matter whatsoever.
- A blackmailer making a deal with you (Rare Situation)
- Hillary from Gensec (Can send 2 Gensec guards WITH pagers.)
- Police Department (Will send 3 officers WITHOUT pagers.)
Police Department will call again after a short while asking about the officers he dispatched and will provide you a certain amount of time to finish up the heist before sounding the alarm.

Handling the sent guards/officers:

These can be a real problem when it comes to remaining stealthy, especially the two guards who carry pagers. It's ideal to bring a friend along with you whilst letting the other two handle everything else.

Guards must be taken down and bagged quick, as soon as they leave their car, they're automatically alerted. This is normal. Taking them out from the roof is most ideal.

Police officers are easier to handle due to their lack of pagers. The closer you can lure them in, the easier it'll be. Make sure they're within reach, or you won't be able to bag them outside of the map.

Be sure to avoid gunfire as much as possible (Unless supressed), this includes guards within the bank as this can trigger neighbours calling the police.

Upon playing this heist at a difficulty higher than OVERKILL, Lazors will always be present at the vault and would require timing and reaction to sneak into the vault and back, it is recommended for hosts to go into the vault as they have an advantage over the game's latency.

Loot bags will not trigger the lazors and can be passed through with ease, no matter what the difficulty is, one bag is enough to complete the heist, finding one however can sometimes be a problem (But sometimes a breeze and found instantly).

You know the ones, the first couple you go for before they're given the chance to press the panic button under their desk. You often find yourself getting caught because they press the button before you get the chance to yell at them.

So everyone's solution is to shoot them, but this also means taking care of cleaner costs and is seen to be the wrong way of handling it. Whilst it makes sense for you to panic if the stealthing goes wrong and you're looking to recover as soon as possible, there is an alternative.

How to keep them down

Yes, it is indeed possible to get them down every time guaranteed, though if you're still a little unsure and would rather not risk the heist (Firestarter Pro-Job Deathwish for example), then you're more than welcome to shoot them until comfortable.

1. Be sure to have a good connection.

Either have a good connection or let the host take that role, if you lag, your actions are delayed and that means they'll press the alarm before reacting to your shouts.

2. Melee them ONCE.

Be sure to come well prepared with a quick melee weapon, take a swing at each of them once for good measure. If you melee them more than once, you're gonna kill them and we don't want that.

This step isn't necessary 100% of the time, but this helps get them down quicker.

3. Shout them down.

Finally, you're safe to shout them down and they'll be on the ground immediately, all you'll need to do next is control the rest of the bank before they either call the police or press the other alarm at the back of the bank.

Remember, spare the civilians.

Like many, it's hard to memorise the tiles to get to the other side of the puzzle without triggering the alarm. This is frustrating to pull off during Stealth and even more frustrating when you've gone loud and you'd rather not drill into the damn thing if the puzzle is messed up.

So here are a couple of useful methods to help get down the pattern, others have their own ways on memorising the tiles, if it works for them, then that's great!

Remember, you do NOT need to do the first pattern you're provided with, you can wait for it to reset so you can be provided an easier one to do. For those playing on Deathwish, you're going to want one you can do within 30 seconds.

Method One - Columns

Memory through numbers and change of direction. If you take a look at the green lights that appear vertically and count them in columns, that's a good way on helping you. Be sure to remember the first tile it starts off on.

The pattern can also change in the direction it goes, so be sure to remember which tile it changes direction on, make a note of it if you need to. if the pattern leads into one of the sides before changing direction, there's no need to make a note of it, it's fairly obvious.

Method Two - Left, Right, Up

A fairly long and simply one to follow, but it's a lot of instructions to remember and write down. Though this can work very well with much simpler puzzles.

It's all very easy to understand, if the puzzle goes into any direction, you simply write down where it goes. If you're planning on typing it all down to help memorise it, be sure to use the first letter of each direction. It will give you a whole lot less to type down.

As you know, when stealthing the Diamond Heist in Payday 2, you're later required to get two keycards in order to unlock different areas to the objective.

The first keycard is required after rewiring four circuit boxes, this timelock takes a minute to count down. During this time, it's a good idea to go on a search for a second keycard if you don't have one ready.

Each timelock takes a minute and a half to complete.

There's also a little nasty trick that's been scripted into these timelocks, there's a chance for at least one guard to inspect the area after the keycard has been entered and can appear in either area and will do at least ONCE.

There could also be a chance for another guard to appear, meaning two guards will investigate a timelock each. This hasn't been confirmed yet but could very well be possible.

Timelock One: He will appear as a white shirted security guard wearing a hat. He roams around the once lazor'd off room for a random period of time before moving away from the area. As far as I know, he does not return to the room once he's left it.

There is a chance he will investigate the area of the second timelock IF he's still present in the first area whilst the keycard has been inserted and still hasn't counted down yet.

Timelock Two: He will also appear as a white shirted security guard, only this one is not wearing a hat. He also roams the area for a random period of time before leaving, the amount of time for either guard is unknown but can range from 2-5 minutes.

Remember, these guards will ONLY appear once the timelock begins to count down.

On occassion, there can be a chance of a pink truck to spawn inside of the dockyard as opposed to a white truck. The difference between them are as followed:

- Their colour.
- The Pink truck can be opened via drilling/sawing/using C4.
- The Pink truck will have loot available inside.

If you want to break into the truck as steal the contents, you'll have some trouble keeping things silent whilst doing so. The truck can range from having a single weapon case to a few weapon cases and isn't consistent. Sometimes you can be lucky, but sometimes not so much.

Things to look out for

- A civilian will be roaming around that specific location near the truck and will spot the truck being opened before the player is given a chance to finish drilling into it.

- A guard patrols between the middle of the dock, it's important to eliminate any threat before starting the drilling. If the guards are alerted, they could potentially fire their gun upon being injured or killed.

- A guard patrols on the bottom section of the dock under the truck, but not half of the time, there's a 50/50 chance he would either be on the truck's side or the opposite side where it wouldn't matter.

- A guard patrols further up the same side of the dock and could possibly see the drilling from a specific angle. If the drilling is lucky and timed correctly, this guard can possibly not be alerted.

Whilst within my Payday 2 Guide on doing Shadow Raid solo, I did not recommend attempting to open the vault, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

All it takes is timing and close keycard drops.

There are three different ways on finding these keycards:

- One of the Murky Water guards is holding one. (Possibly two)
- The orange coated worker is holding one.
- The Murky Water guard in the camera room is holding one.

This is recommended to attempt if you are given the container drop off instead of the guard drop off.
(You'll know five minutes after starting the heist.)

The first keycard should be picked up by one of the Murky Water guards, preferably the one in the camera room.

The second keycard should be picked up from the orange coated worker, but you shouldn't grab him right away, you need to catch him when he's as close to the vault as you could possibly get him.

You only have 10 seconds to put the two keycards in between one another.

So, the closer you can get the worker to the vault, the easier of a time you'll have, if he's a little distance away, it would help to have some faster moving skills with you.

In the event that there's a guard blocking the door, the next best thing is to use the 'Thermal Paste' asset to get into the building. However, if getting in another way is the only option, that means getting out is the same issue.

Luckily there's one odd window on each side that allows you to escape from the building, be sure to burn through these specific windows if at all possible.

On Death Wish, it's very likely a camera is going to be overlooking them, so consider bringing along ECMs just in case.

Left Side

The window that's second from the right and third from the left is overlooking a bookcase you can climb up onto and sneak back through that same window.

Right Side

In the far corner furthest from the staircase is a window overlooking a step ladder. You can use this ladder to climb back up through the window.

"Can you make a CAR-4 rifle risk 3 weapon setup?"

Well, of course I can. And I must say good choice of weaponry, the CAR-4 is probably the best assault rifle for any person looking to stealth.

As long as you maintain a concealment of 89 you will always have a detection risk of 3.

With the help of the Gage Courier DLC pack, you can reach an impressive '30' concealment for that specific weapon. How do you accomplish this? With the following mods listed below:

Absolutely. The Raven Shotgun is a fairly decent weapon and can be modified to be suited best for stealth. I personally go with the Judge Shotgun for stealthy situations, but we all have our different preferences.

Assuming you have the shotgun, it won't be necessary to list the "Gage Shotgun Pack", but I'm going to do it anyway.

This one proved problematic, the best solution to build a Raven Shotgun for stealth builds would be to include one without 'The Silent Killer Suppressor', otherwise it's fairly impossible to create one whilst maintaining a detection risk of '3'.


This was built without the skill 'Hidden Blade' in mind, this skill can help reduce the detection risk if you want to include the silencer. This weapon can be used for when things go loud, and use your secondary weapon as your method on killing any guards if at all necessary.

As for Ammunition, I recommend AP Slug rounds, since it'd be used mainly for stealth, you'd hardly need a lot of ammo, and it'd make it great for taking down law enforcers from a distance as well as deal a fair amount of damage and possibly result in killing them.
