Black Armoury Tech Patch

描述
A simple patch mod. Version 2.8.15.21

The goal of this mod is to
A. Learn modding better.
B. Make sure your tribals don't know how to make guns before they can smith. (Or even make bows for that matter.)

Detailed changes:
- Moves the start of the BA tech line to Medieval (Sorry spooky tribal gunmen.)
- The start of the BA techline requires "Greatbow" and "Smithing" to be researched first.
- The first real gun tech now requires the thunderer tech to research. No making guns before you make guns.
- Jezali Muskets are moved from the crafting spot to the smithy. Stop making your starter guns in dirt please.

Compatability with VFE - Medieval:
If you have VFE - Medieval installed, the patch will completly stop tribal raiders from using guns past the
Jezali. Unfortunately this cannot be ported to vanillia since vanillia does not have a "RangedMedieval" tag for
spawning pawn's weapons.

Bug Fixes (Tech Patch):
(These are bug fixes for this mod.)
- I've not had any bugs reported yet, if you see one feel free to yell!

Bug Fixes (TBA):
(These are bugs that I /think/ were in the base version of TBA, little stuff that got in my way.)
- Fixed mass of the short wheellock musket from 3.55 to 2.55, I don't think they should've been heavier than the long version at 3.0, And they're now compatible with default Simple Sidearms.

Ironically, making Jezails in the dirt isn't terribly uncommon in Afghanistan. But at least they know how to make guns, tribals in RimWorld shouldn't just magically know how to make muskets without research. I just thought your wording was amusing.

From my experience, the game likes to spawn pawns with the "Best Range for best damage." where I'll have dudes just with Sniper Rifles and R700s from VWE. One could probably still patch it out with more complex modding, but at that point you're getting closer to a fork and stepping on AOBA's metaphorically unfinished toes.

its mainly visitors spawning with them, guess they are cheaper to use for industrials

@5katz I don't think so, not easily at least. None of the weapons have tags for spawning on Industrial pawns, so my guess is that they just get bumped up from (PreviousTech)+CurrentTech. Might fix with more colony wealth, but I'm not sure.

@ALE199-ITA Luckily, that wasn't the point of the original patch. With version 2, even if you have VFE-Medieval the Jezeli is always for tribal raiders to use. Without VFE, tribal raiders will use any of the firearms from TBA. An interesting conversation on one's base design none the less. (As an extra bit of information, from my tests it seems the tribals will only use them in high-point raids. Which means, at the point of them actually using them you can probably snipe them with a greatbow.)

On the otherhand, I dislike not giving tribals, tribal gunpowder guns, the Jazeil rifle was a rifle used by many tribes in the middle east, then again, tribal raids are already piss easy, if you fear them having a slightly better weapon then a shortbow, then there is something wrong with your base.
