Fix

The "Corrupt Data" multiplayer bug that people have been seeing is caused due to choosing a custom skin tone during character creation. When attempting to start multiplayer, it checks for tampered data and incorrectly identifies the skin tone as invalid if it's not one of the preset skin tones.

This can now be fixed (for free) using the following tool: https://github.com/AsteriskAmpersand/MHST2-Save-Tools

Steps:
1. Go to your steam userdata folder and backup your data. (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\{YOUR STEAMID}\1277400\remote)
2. Download the latest MHST2-Save-Tools. You need BOTH .exe files!
3. Start AAStories2SaveTool.exe and select the mhr_slot_x.sav file as the input and output.
4. Enter your SteamID64 (can be found on a site like https://steamid.io/ or https://www.steamidfinder.com/)
5. Click "Fix Save" and choose a skin tone preset for your character.
6. Start the game like normal

Note: As of 1.3.0, ModLoader doesn't work. As a result, his bug can persist through this fix if you have used some kind of save editor or anything that requires ModLoader.

It's really weird that this bug wasn't fixed in the last title update, a basic feature in character creation isn't working.

People say that the issue is your Specific Skin Tones if it is not selected from the Presets. However, I did chose from the presets.

So I reloaded the backup files that I have made after completing the game and I tested the online feature and it worked. After I played the In-game Tournament, it got corrupted for me. So potentially, my issue is somewhere there.

I have no issue with Multiplayer before. I have played some with my friends. After everything else, the bug happened.

How do I use this? I don't understand. When I download the files, there's only 1 EXE file and the name is not the same anymore. When I tried to use the Exe file, there are so many DLL files missing or not found apparently. How do I use this?

@KnightAppolo Have you modified your save previously or used any cheats/trainers?
If possible, please upload your .sav files online and send me a link so that I can look at why it's failing.

this didn't work for me does that mean i have to start over from scratch?

Never mind I figured it out. For anyone else unfamiliar with grabbing stuff from GIT go to releases pick the latest and download everything there. Then do what is stated above. It works wonders thank you for saving me 40 hours.

Greetings, I may be just dumb or something but I can't seem to get it to work. I downloaded the ZIP from github but can't get it to work when i run it. only .exe I see is AndoStories2Tool. a Command box opens and some code runs before it closes. I don't see the AAStories2SaveTool.exe file.
