Weserübung-Süd

描述
The German invasion of Denmark on the 9th of April 1940 was understandably not featured in Unity of Command 2's Blitzkrieg DLC due to its incredibly short length (the invasion also being known as The Six Hour War).

Despite this I thought it would be interesting to see the campaign play out so to this end Operation Weserübrung-Süd has been recreated with historical orders of battle and operational details that are hopefully as accurate as possible. (Due to the unfortunate lack of Danish units in the base game I have had to proxy Norwegian units in their place).

This scenario is balanced for Classic difficulty. Germans will often win but an overconfident player may see the Danish turn the tables on them. The real challenge is managing resources so that all objectives are taken on time with minimal casualties.

Any feedback on balance or historical accuracy is appreciated and I hope you enjoy. :)

It'll be in the YML file called "hqs" for your scenario.

@charles_d_berger Cheers! I'd love to add the commander's names but unfortunately they're not in the base game's available list. I might look into how I can possibly mod them in though now so thanks again for the feedback!

Great little scenario, congrats! You might add in the names of commanders for the HQs, just for a bit of extra immersive detail.

@Radovid V I think they're working on making it accessible for users but I don't think it's a high priority or even guaranteed at this point. I really hope they release it eventually though.

Are they releasing a map editor?

@Radovid V been tinkering around with a 1939 Saar Offensive scenario though there aren't a tonne of historical resources for it and like this scenario it ends up being pretty straightforward and easy. I'm looking forward to the release of the map editor as it'll create a tonne of possibilities for new scenarios.

@Radovid V I fully agree, the scenario really shows just how hopeless of a situation it was for the Danes.

A well made level although a bit too easy, though that is to be expected from a scenario representing the invasion of Denmark
