Mutation Control <Relocating>

In the nearish future I will be coming back to this idea. I'll be starting a fresh mod which I'll eventually link here.

Do not use this item before your INI files are set up unless you want your dinos to have a 0% chance of mutating.



It is literally just an item that will automatically boost mutation to all (tamed) dinos within 50 foundations on placement.

Gives the user control over mutation. This has an item called 'The Catalyst' that spawns a buff to any creature within 50 foundations. Even after you see the buff go away your dino will still keep the settings for future offspring. Looks like the mutation rates are reset to default after cryo, but not after server restart. So, if you have an array of 10 females that you don't move and keep swapping out the males once you get desirable mutations you won't have to keep spamming the buff between every session.

Custom INI files let you change mutation rates. This goes for the number of rolls, the chance to mutate, and the points gained per mutation.

These would be the default INI files:

[MutationControl]
RandomMutationRolls=3
RandomMutationChance=0.025000
RandomMutationGivePoints=2.000000

This is the vanilla rate which is 2.5% chance of mutation, 3 rolls for mutation, and 2 points added. You can make things much more interesting if you'd like!

Example... If you wanted to have a 100% chance of mutating a single time (color and stat boost) and have it award 20 stats your files would need to look like this:

Remember... Inherited stats cannot exceed 255. Also, never have them inherit more than 254 otherwise the values will roll over or not allow you to puts leveled points into the given attribute.
If you're a little shaky on mutations I would check out Ark for Dummies: Mutations. Syntac made a great video that is very information dense and up-to-date.

There will likely be a ton of polishing, rebalancing, and added features in the future. For now, I just wanted a proof of concept and to mess around with the settings in my own server.

I have a lot of plans for this mod! It will be aimed at making breeding easier and/or more fun. For the time being, I'm going to use this mod page as a public test page which will updated more frequently than some may like. In the future I'll probably re-release the mod on a different page that will be much more refined and updated less.

Currently it uses a Tek light as the base item. It can be learned at level 1 and costs 1 wood. As soon as you put it down it send the buff out to all dinos within 50 foundations.

The mod does not work anymore. you can get a Cataclyst but its just a tek Light you can switch on and off.
you do not get a buff from it

every new generations of dinosaur requires you to break the old catalyst and make a new one for it to apply to the new generations, now that's not that bad but pretty inconvenient.
