Lead Sight

Beskrivning
The mod provides gun sights for better targeting with projectile weapons. The gun sights take shooting/targeted ships velocities into account.

Enjoying firing your machine guns/cannons/bolters etc? Having trouble hitting your enemies with them? Then this is the mod for you!

Features:
- Leading gun sights for your current target. No more misses. Just aim at the reticle and shoot!
- Sights can be activated/deactivated by pressing '/' on the keyboard. You will hear a distinctive sound.
- Three colors of the reticle: Red - out of reach, Yellow - could be reached by some weapons, Green - all clear.
- Reticle position is calculated for average velocity of all your projectile guns (lasers/seekers do not count).

Known issues:
- Reticle is hidden behind the objects. This occurs because of the reticle not being a UI object but rather 3d object in the world (visible only by the current player).
- All weapons, even in inactive weapon groups are taken into account when calculating.

Sadly not working for me. No DLC interference or weapon mods installed so that's not the issue.

Q: Has anyone reading this tried this mod recently who also does not have the "Into The Rift DLC"? I'm tempted to try this after changing the dependencies in "modinfo.lua" to max = "3.*" or similar.

Any chance of an official update?

I'd be tempted to try that Rifted Lead Sight ... except, I do not have that DLC yet, and the latest comment about constant crashes has scared me away, especially since my playstyle involves selecting and scavenging lots of wrecks.

This mod has been updated to work with the latest Avorion "Into The Rift DLC" versions.

All contents on the re-upload rifted version are credited to SigmatroN as the original owner of the mod.  The rifted version will be deleted once the original mod is updated to the current version of Avorion.

Not sure how it could work with 2.x on a server...

I get:
2538356784 is problematic: Mod 'Lead Sight' [2538356784]'s base game requirement (1.3 to 1.99.9) doesn't match version 2.0.7 of the game.

Works for me, 2.0.1 and now 2.0.2, single play.

Did stop working today with my first play on 2.0.2 with a save from 2.0.1. Could have defaulted to disabled and conflicting keys might have stopped it from enabling. Instead of just trying to reload (could have worked, idk), I went and changed the mod info file (to skip the warning) and keybinding (had something else for /), works fine again.

Would be nice if keybindings could be loaded from moddata instead of hard coded in the mod 😉
