1 - Steam Save Game
Need a Save Game already created by playing the game , if you haven't
played, go play until the automatic Save Game information appears!

2 - Start with Save Game from Epic Store
Go to ''Documents'' | ''My Games'' | ''SnowRunner'' | ''Base'' | ''Storage'' copy the
folder with a number ''my folder is number 0'' and paste it on the desktop!!

C:\Users\ [USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\SnowRunner\base\storage\ [NUMBER]

3 - Rename the Save Game files from Epic Store

Folder in the desktop Rename ALL FILES from .dat to .cfg

From this example - CompleteSave.dat - to this - CompleteSave.cfg

If can't see files extensions, check "View" tab on your folder and enable "File name extensions".

4 - Disable Steam Cloud Saves for SnowRunner

In your Steam Software

From the Steam Library, right click on SnowRunner and select Properties.
Under the Update tab, the Cloud Synchronization setting can be toggled.

Library > SnowRunner > General > Steam Cloud > Turn Off

5 - Copy the files for Steam Save Game Location
If you want, make a backup copy of your Steam Save Game

In desktop copy ALL RENAMED .cfg FILES from the folder with a number

Paste all the files in your Steam Save Game folder and replace it:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ [NUMBER]\1465360\remote

Delete remotecache.vdh file

in my case i have Steam installed on disk D:

6 - Launching the Game
Launching the Game in the menu will already be able to see the credits on the top right.

Important:
In the game can only open the Map where you are, depending on where you are
travel to the Garage using Recover Vehicle or use Quick Travel on the Map.

Now in the Garage buy something a Truck or buy an addon!
This will make the Save Game works properly

This makes the save game work without losing the explored area
or having to put all vehicles in the garage or having to sell trailers.

7 - Restoring the Achievements

Now restore the Trophies or Achievements you had unlocked at Epic Store.

In the Game open Statistics page pressing F4 on Keyboard or Down on Gamepad
and they will start to pop up and show as a Steam Achievements.

8 - Enable Steam Cloud Saves for SnowRunner

From the Steam Library, right click on SnowRunner and select Properties.
Under the Update tab, the Cloud Synchronization setting can be toggled.

Library > SnowRunner > General > Steam Cloud > Turn On

When receive notice choose send to Steam Cloud

Save Game Transfer Complete
Hope everything works correctly!

For anyone who still try to seek an easy way to transfer save
You can use PROS in game now
1. Link Snowrunner to PROS in both of the source and destination game in different platform
2. Upload save in game of source platform in main menu
3. To go your PROS web page online, select Snowrunner, at bottom you can select which platform to transfer save to
4. Download save in game of destination platform
5. Load and play, don't forget to sync all achievements by F4 key

With the help of this guide and the comments it was fairly smooth to transfer to Steam. BUT the only car bought for real money in Epic did not come with to Steam. I have even tried logging out with that car active in Epic before moving savefiles but it´s gone when I start Steam. Any suggestions?

For me this does not work at all unfortunately. Still everything completely at zero in the game. Does someone have another way to get this working?

Just found out there is now an official way, if you are willing to create an account: https://support.saber.games/hc/en-us/articles/17535742523537-SnowRunner-Cross-Saves

Yay, great guide.

Just want to add one thing: I did fight for visibility missing for like 20 tries or so.. some maps never worked... I then did one last try, quit steam, copied the files & renamed them and run all again. It worked this time... I never closed steam on my earlier tries, tbh... not sure if that was the issue.. but it worked for me.

Worked perfectly after I copied all renamed files a second time, otherwise the explored regions do not transfer (use this batch-script to rename all files from dat. to .cfg automatically, copy the following to a .txt. file and rename it to .bat, copy the .bat to your savegame folder on the desktop and double-click on it):

@ECHO OFF
PUSHD .
FOR /R %%d IN (.) DO (
cd "%%d"
IF EXIST *.dat (
REN *.dat *.cfg
)
)

Xenomatter - awesome fix. I can agree, if you have the issue K14M had of the watchtowers remaining blocked after following the steps, then just re-copy the fog_level files and sts_levels
Doing this worked for me and everything seems to be in the right place now.

Although I had the same problems as K14M stated below (explored areas not carrying over), there is a much simpler fix to the issue as opposed to what he proposed. If the explored areas don't carry over, simply re-import the fog_level files from your EGS save again. If map states don't carry over (vehicle locations, tasks etc.), simply re-import sts_levels and completesave and commonsslsave. That at least fixed it for me.
