"Rihard Saltkirk is a man of many a title, garnered from all corners of the world.
Ones he holds dearest are "that cheating wretch", "that louse-ridden liar" and, his personal favourite, "that **********".
Travelling as a supposed occultist, and swindling the naive or the shrewd out of their coin, he has been to, and subsequently run away from almost all corners of the world, from the simple Vardo of Latori to the dubious bohemian bar of Nouri.

A flick of a wrist, a friendly pat on the shoulder, and a second to let him start talking and flash his smile -- and the victim already stares down a massive collection of -- mostly useless -- occult and esoteric items of great -- supposed -- promise and potential.

Naturally, his business practices create many enemies, and Rihard is no stranger to threats and running, having evaded a noose, a pitchfork, a sacrificial dagger, a back-alley shiv and a crossbow bolt in the span of two weeks.

After many years of dubious dealings, Rihard eventually settled down in Nouri as a professor in the Institute of Arts, where he taught about the cultural intricacies of occultism, having been given a rather intimate look into many of them (namely, from a holding cell of a Sualokin-worshipping cult that kidnapped him once and being a direct participant of one of the many, many creative punishments the Beylerians think of for those who "insult the faith").

One would think that wisdom of age and hindsight would make Rihard settle down a bit more, but every once in a while, there will be talk of a swindler in the dark alleyways of Nouri.
