Follow these steps:

Follow these steps:
1. Download Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny if you also own that game

2. Download the excellent ECWolf source port from http://maniacsvault.net/ecwolf/download.php and unrar the files to a temporary location

3. Go to your Steam Wolfenstein 3D base folder (for example: c:\steam\steamapps\common\wolfenstein 3D\base ) and rename or delete dosbox.exe

4. Copy and paste the ECWolf content from the temporary folder you created to c:\steam\steamapps\common\wolfenstein 3D\base and rename ecwolf.exe to dosbox.exe

Do the same for Spear of Destiny if you own that game on Steam

5. Now simply launch Wolfenstein 3D from your Steam Library
If you launch Spear of Destiny from your Steam Library you will be greeted by this screen:



Don't forget to change the in-game options to your liking. Also, unlike the original games ECWolf has a very handy automap feature.

Tested on W7x64, W8x64 and W10x64

How do you get the cheats to work on this game? Can someone please post simple step by step instructions?

This tutorial is no longer correct. There is no doxbox.exe in the base folder. It has to be done in the DosBOX folder.

Paste the downloaded files into steam\steamapps\common\wolfenstein 3D\DosBOX.

Rename or delete dosbox.exe.

Rename ecwolf.exe to dosbox.exe.

Launch from Steam.

How can I change joystick key mapping? I can't do it into the game, it's locked. And it's impossible to disable joystick too, so I could use Xpadder to set my joystick using the keyboard keys.

It's working for me, but instead of pasting the files to 'base' folder, I had to paste them to Dosbox folder, since dosbox.exe is there.
Rename "start.bat" to "start -goobers.bat" helped too, so I could use cheats.

All you have to do is copy all the files in /base/ over to the dosbox folder. Copy the dosbox app spelling, then delete it. Rename the ewolf app by copying the exact spelling of the dosbox app
