SmeltingPlus is a lightweight and balanced mod that adds 296 new smelting recipes for raw materials, such as ingots, ores, Instead of dumping all your weak armor, tankards, plates, goblets, and other useless things, Smelting Plus allows you to smelt those items back into ingots! Finally, a use for all those Dragur weapons lying around.

Now you can enjoy grabbing plates and goblets from the Jarl and melting them down into fine silver ingots. Additionally, ALL random items (~20) found in Dwemmer ruins can be smelted down into ingots, rather than the half dozen available in vanilla.

HOW DO I USE THIS MOD?

Metal items (weapons, armor, bowls, goblets, jewelry, etc.) can be recycled at any smelter.
Wood items (wooden bows, baskets, plates, etc.) can be recycled at any smelter in the world.
Hide items (leather armors, ALL pelts, clothes, shoes, etc.) can be recycled at any tanning rack.



Smelting Plus is compatible with ALL other mods and DLC!
DLC is not required (and no DLC items are included in this version).

- ENCHANTED or STOLEN items CANNOT be recycled!

- EQUIPPED ITEMS will not appear in the smelter.
This is to keep the items you are wearing safe!

- Recipes will not appear in the Smelter/Tanning Rack unless you have the items to recycle.

- Some recipes require MULTIPLE items to appear!
For example, it takes 2 daggers and 30 arrows to smelt ingots.

- Some items require a SMITHING PERK to be recycled!
For example, Dwarven items require 'Dwarven Smithing'

A very useful mod , that works flawlessly as described by the autor for me in 2025 along with 20 other mods .

To the users commenting that it's broken, note in the restriction section that some items (notably steel and higher) require you to have the appropriate Smithing perk to be able to smelt that tier of items down. This means you can always do leather, gold, silver, wooden, iron, and draugr stuff, but for steel, orcish, elven, ebony, etc, you need the appropriate perks.

ebony dagger, one set of specific fur armor, elven items,glass, forsworn, as well as any dlc items arent smeltable. everything else so far seems to work.
and thanks for making this mod and posting it both on nexus and steam workshop

Noticed that the mod is not working in game so thought i had accidentally uninstalled the mod. Unfortunately not true - the mod is just broken :(

this is 99% broken/outdated somehow. used it tons in the past.
After some testing just now these items still work:
- all Iron items
- draugr items
- Jewelry
- Silver pots and pans, candle sticks..
- All items that give firewood, long bows, hunting bows, brooms & wooden bowls/plates
All hide/leather related items seem to work fine as well,
All other items like steel, dwarven, ebony and anything else is broken, using a new save with no other mods +all DLC

Ive notice that while running this mod i can no longer tan hide, i can only recycle armor.

Great mod and totally logical.. I've had it since pre-covid & its totally bug free so far..

IF one found an old iron axe.. one COULD melt it down into an Ingot. Well done

Hands down one of the best Quality-Of-Life improving mods. Turns "bleh! More useless loot..." into "Oooh! Gonna smelt that ♥♥♥♥ down and craft something noice!"

it seems that is still cannot smelt some of the dwemer/dwarven junk items anyone has a fix ?
