You can simply change the effiency of a fin with this tool.
Press E on the controller to highlight linked fins for 5 seconds

Needed:

The Fin Controller stopped working for some reason, I dont know why or how. I cant fix it at the moment.

in lua\entities\gmod_wire_fin_controller\init.lua at line 49 there is check to see if the fin is unparented before changing the efficiency, this is always returning false, preventing the efficiency from being changed. Most contraptions have their fins parent-welded anyways so....

Either way, remove that check and the controller works again. If you don't intend to make this change or don't want to update this addon, I would like your permission to upload a version of this addon with this fix applied.

so, is this a wire aileron controller tool of some sort? if so could you make something like this but isnt wiremod? like something that could be controlled with just stock arrow keys? that would be pretty cool

i just tested it to make sure, no idea why it doesnt work anymore. I will look into it in the next few days

@Winston Use "wire_fin_controller_model modelpath" instead.

Can you please provide the command to change the controller model? For example, for a wire thruster it's "wire_thruster_model <modelpath>".
I hoped for this it would be "wire_fin_controller" but it doesn't seem to be
