Large Transport "Merlin" V3 Final

描述
Background story:
Year 2355 Deep Space Mining corporation Yamutsi Corp needed one big hauler to expand their leading mining business. In development for half a decade, year 2403 the first Merlin class transport left the drydocks of Port Mishugasa. This large craft became known for it's limited crew requirements, beeing stationary for months to aid mining operations and on it's way back to any deep space station or core world the Merlin refined all the ore in its cargo. Later, aiding corporations bought a few of these massive ships, refitted the engineering into living quarters making it possible to transport people and families to outer rim worlds with food, tools and other resources in such amounts they could survive for 5 years on one cargo trip.


Basics about the ship:
One large transporter with every large cargo container hooked up to the conveyors. In every cargo "pod" there's six large containers, so this transport can really pull around some insane tonnage of cargo. Since mining goes faster now with less running around and more time actual mining you'll find that a big hauler is a good hauler. This transport is a preparation for when new "chunks" will be added to the game, and we can leave one asteroid field and travel into space to find new ones.

Features:
Refineries
Lots of cargo space(6x12 Large Containers. Should be around 9,000,000 L)
Two big drop off areas(2x2 collectors) for small miningsships with ejectors(likely to be used by ships unable to fit a large connector)
Two docking connectors

UPDATE!

- Added a new model of the Merlin. The Modular B. Now the whole front cargo section can be separated from the ship.
- Modified the interior of the machinery room. Modular B now has slightly more cargo(internal cargo on the main craft) but only two refinerys.
- Added grouping for all useful systems.
Note that this is a test version and has no means to unload yet. Unloading port will probably be on the cargo section.

FINAL UPDATE!

- Removed Merlin with Merge Blocks. They killed the ship in various ways. Much rage.
- Added lights, landing zone, port and starboard lights.
- Remade engineering
- Added new blocks. Ship can now run on emergency power with batteries
- Remade side docks. Ship no longer spit ore into stations, but actually docks with them
- Added side cockpits for docking
- Changed the reverse thrusters so that it wont eat any hull. Breaking distance increased, but it's a large ship so it's ok.
- Pimped here and there for easy navigation bot for crew and outside ships

Hey kennet, a much simpler way of having the dockable containers would be just hooking up a connector, then using a lift ship with landing gear on the front to attach itself. Then, once you access the connector, you can release it and carry it away.

I downloaded this one and converted all the cargo pods to small ships, added pistons and connectors to make them dockable to the center section, and the ability to separate mid section (dont ever do that while ships are docked!) it was awesome :D PM me if u wanna try it

Can I publish your ship as part of my fleet? I have altered the internals and added things but overall its still the same ship.

I love this ship. The design looks and feels amazing. It does, however, feel alittle empty right now. But, i'm sure as the game updates, any empty area will fill in pretty nice. I had some trouble with the collectors not working correctly, I had to rerun most of the pipes in the industrial area of the ship. But now that I got it working perfectly, it has become the "Flagship" of my fleet. I also added a small gravity drive and a different paint sceme (Black with white and red stripes) with alot of "Accent" lights. The gravity drive is for forward and reverse only. It's not very powerful, but it can get you motoring pretty good. Over all though, 10/10. Great work and many props to you.
