Ayy, i decided to make this guide to help all those who run into this really annoying and common bug. It's really safe-to-do, so don't worry. Unfortunately, you will have to say goodbye to the Steam Cloud , but I have a pretty good alternative.

Ma ho in mente un'alternativa niente male.

The first thing to do is to create a backup of your save data.
This procedure is not mandatory but it's recommended

Just make a copy of the folder "Sunset" in another place (I recommend maybe even on some cloud like Google Drive/ Dropbox / Onedrive).

This is the path to find the folder:
C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\Sunset

* "Your Username" refers to the username you have on Windows.

La prima cosa da fare é quella di creare un backup dei vostri dati di salvataggio.
Questa procedura non é obbligatoria ma é consigliata

Vi basterá fare la copia della cartella "Sunset" in un altro luogo (consiglio magari anche su qualche cloud tipo Google Drive/Dropbox/Onedrive).

Questo é il percorso per trovare la cartella:
C:\Users\Tuo Username\AppData\Local\Sunset

* "Tuo Username" é riferito al nome utente che avete su Windows.

The procedure for solving this problem is very simple and fast, you just need to reach the following path:
C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\Sunset\Saves\Your SteamID

Now, delete "steam_autocloud.vdf".
For some people the problem was solved by simply following this procedure only, for others it was necessary to deactivate the Steam Cloud.
To deactivate Steam Cloud:

1. Open Steam and log into your library
   
2. Right click on Sunset Overdrive - Properties - Generals
   
3. Uncheck "Keep Steam Cloud saves for Sunset Overdrive"

* "Your Username" refers to the username you use on Windows.
** "Your SteamID" is your SteamID, if you have other folders and want to find out your SteamID/Your savegame folder here is the procedure:

1. Click here [www.steamidfinder.com] and enter the URL of your Steam profile
   
2. In the results you will find "steamID3"
   
3. The folder name of your saves will be the number after "1:#######".

Risolvere questo problema, come dicevo, é molto semplice, vi basterá raggiungere il seguente percorso:
C:\Users\Tuo Username\AppData\Local\Sunset\Saves\Tuo SteamID

Ora non dovrete fare altro che eliminare il file "steam_autocloud.vdf".
Ad alcune persone il problema si é risolto semplicemente cosi, ad altre invece é stato necessario disattivare lo Steam Cloud.
Per disattivarlo:

1. Aprire Steam e accedere nella propria libreria
   
2. Tasto destro su Sunset Overdrive - Proprietá - Generali
   
3. Togliere il check da "Conserva i salvataggi su Steam Cloud per Sunset Overdrive"

* "Tuo Username" é riferito al nome utente che utilizzate su Windows.
** "Tuo SteamID" é il vostro SteamID, se avete altre cartelle e volete scoprire il vostro SteamID/il nome della cartella dei salvataggi ecco la procedura:

1. Cliccate qua[www.steamidfinder.com] ed inserire l'URL del vostro profilo Steam
   
2. Nei risultati troverete "steamID3"
   
3. Il nome della cartella dei vostri salvataggi sará il numero che si trova dopo "1:######" .

Every time you delete "steam_autocloud.vdf" steam will always just replace it and the fix will always be temporary. Here's a PERMANANT solution I learned from a fellow player:

1. Disable Steam Cloud storage by right clicking on Sunset Overdrive > Properties

2. Start the game (optional but it may prevent steam from undoing your changes if you make them while the game is running)

3. Go to your save files in "C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Sunset\Saves\<your steam ID#>" and find "steam_autocloud.vdf"

4. Open "steam_autocloud.vdf" with a text editor and delete all the text inside. (you can use anything, I used notepad++ but the default notepad app should work fine)

5. save the changes and exit. Then right click on "steam_autocloud.vdf" > Properties and under attributes enable "Read Only" then hit Apply

Un fix permanente (e che non richiede nient'altro) a questo problema é il seguente:

• Disabilita lo Steam Cloud sul gioco (tasto destro sul gioco in libreria - proprietá)
  
• Avviare il gioco
  
• Trovare il file "steam_autocloud.vdf" che si trova qui:
  "C:\Users\<nome>\AppData\Local\Sunset\Saves\<il tuo Steam ID>"
  
• Apri il file con un editor di testo ed elimina tutto quello che c'é scritto.
  Per questo processo puoi utilizzare sia il blocco note di base che un qualsiasi altro editor di testo, non importa.
  
• Salva le modifiche ed esci. Dopo clicca con il tasto destro sul File - Proprietá e su "Attributi" spunta l'opzione "Solo Lettura" ed applica.

A good "alternative" (if we want a very "raw" one) to Steam Cloud would be to use some cloud site. My advice is to use Google Drive (and this part of the guide will take just that as example).

There are two paths you can take:

• Make backup copies every time you close the game. (annoying)
  
• Install a program that automatically backs up your data.

In the first case I don't think you need a guide, just connect to your GDrive page and copy the save data. For the second, here is a small procedure:

1. Download the program of GDrive[www.google.com] and install it.
   
2. In the backup and synchronization preferences click on "Choose Folder"
   
3. Navigate to and select the folder:
   C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\Sunset

Now, a first backup copy will be made.
During this procedure DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING let it finish.

To restore the save data you will simply need:

1. Log into your Google Drive profile
   
2. Click on " Computer " - " My computer " and you will find the folder "Sunset"
   
3. Download the folder and replace it with the usual path:
   C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\Sunset

Una buona "alternativa" (se vogliamo anche molto "grezza") a Steam Cloud sarebbe quella di utilizzare qualche sito di cloud. Il mio consiglio é quello di usare Google Drive (e questa parte della guida prenderó d'esempio proprio quello).

Ci sono due strade che potrete intraprendere:

• Effettuare copie di backup ogni volta che chiudete il gioco.
  
• Installare un programma che in automatico esegue il backup dei dati.

Nel primo caso non penso serva una guida, basta collegarvi nella vostra pagina GDrive e fare la copia dei dati di salvataggio. Per la seconda invece ecco una piccola procedura:

1. Scaricare il programma di GDrive[www.google.com] ed installarlo.
   
2. Tra le preferenze di backup e sincronizzazione cliccare su "Scegli Cartella"
   
3. Raggiungere e selezionare la cartella:
   C:\Users\Tuo Username\AppData\Local\Sunset

Verrá eseguito una prima copia di backup, durante questa procedura NON TOCCATE NIENTE fatelo finire.

Per ripristinare poi i dati di salvataggio sará necessario semplicemente:

1. Accedere al vostro profilo Google Drive
   
2. Cliccare su "Computer" - "Il mio computer" e troverete la cartella "Sunset"
   
3. Scaricare la cartella e sostituirla con il solito percorso:
   C:\Users\Tuo Username\AppData\Local\Sunset
