Xinput plus 1.45 is Fully Allows you to play most any game with full controller or joystick customization including dead zone, sensitivity, range and axis mappings. It can be found here:

The newest version of the program is not in Japanese as the tutorial may say so disregard that part.

This program combined with DS4windows has already make X-wing special edition completely playable using an Dual shock 4 wireless or xbox 360 wireless Controller.

With these two programs combined Its is probably possible to play any game with any controller.
The xbox 360 wireless does not actually need DS4windows but a Dual shock 4 or 5 will.
