@mookie.linwelles I believe in settings fallout 3 it's the most brutal, you nuke a city, children corpses etc( i don't remember this in NV), *BUT* if you take account FO1/FO2 how the master created the supermutants and stuff would be a lot more hardcore then FO3, my final vote would go to FNV It has a lot of mix, but, A pack of Deathclaw or Cazadors gave me trauma(Stories of vaults in the terminals too, some are pretty brutal).

This is a dark little game, Fallout 4. . . so, question, was Fallout 3, with bombs in baby carriages, the different "types" of Super Mutants and the sound effect that went along with reaching into a meat ball to pick out the loot darker? It seemed darker to me. What do you think?
