Able to use farming 1 row minimum.
Able to travel to the coastal town.

Thats pretty much it.

First get a little spending money to start you off. The easiest way to complete one of the first quests, or to farm a 10 mutton for 1500 Gold.

Once you have a few hundred gold go to the Coastal city and buy 5-10 RICE SEEDLINGS.

Go back to town and plant and water them.

***********CHEAT TIME**********
Basics:
1)Save and exit the game once planting is done.
2) Click your clock setting (works with consoles and PC)
3) Change you clock to offline and manually set date 1 day forward (its like time travel without the paradoxes)
4) Re-open the game

Once you have done this your crops will be ready to harvest immediately.

A few key things to not here is that Rice will yield ~8-18 (higher amounts are only with bounty fertilizer) items per plant harvested. The sale price is 300 gold per Rice sold. Bounty fertilizer costs 300 per, which is well worth it to earn even 2 more rice than would have received normally, so its worth the investment.
The upside to using bounty fertilizer is also, that you can get almost 99 Rice from 1 row of rice, which means the fertilize step is a better time investment to simply farm 1 row of rice as you will have to harvest 1 row, sell it off, come back and do it again, so it saves time.

Anyway. Thats about all there is. Heres a video showing everything but me changing the time, if you need a visual guide, but its pretty straightforward.
