With this I put the graphics preset to HIGH rather than the VERY HIGH which is default.

1. In your steam library right click on the game and click Properties.
2. In the general tab right at the bottom there is Launch Options type

-USEALLAVAIBLECORES

3. Go to the LOCAL FILES TAB after this.
4. Click BROWSE LOCAL FILES and you will see the folder where the game is.
5. Right click on the Empire of Ember.exe and click properties.
6. Click on the Compatibility tab.

7. Near the bottom there is a check box with Run this program as administrator , Tick it.
