that guy really needs to get a life
If you open your eyes and read the update notes, you might see that 12.0 branch is BETA. If it doesn't mean anything to you, i'll explain.
BETA is a phase of testing the software and it's not stable. That means there is still people playing on older version who might find this guide useful.
Not gonna explain what is NAT and why Hamachi is useful again. I can clearly see that your immature mind just refuses to understand anything. Please stop shitposting on a topic you don't know anything about.
Most players have trouble starting the server because people these days don't care about port forwarding, they want everything to work out of the box.
Also, not everyone has a white public IP address, many ISPs hold their users behind NAT, which makes it impossible to forward ports. Here comes Hamachi which is not deprecated at all.
If I'm not giving credit to OpenTTD wiki for lines that I copied doesn't mean I'm hiding it. I don't understand why it triggers you so much, get a life, dude.
Using default or weak login credentials is generally a very bad practice, and is a significant factor in many successful cyber attacks. It's the rule of thumb to change the default password, even if you naïvely think it doesn't matter. It's too late when you realize that it does in fact matter. Please do not dispute this. Negligence causes harm.
