Atlas' Unsung Voice Remover

描述
Unsung causes factions from vanilla and other mods to speak languages they are not supposed to (i.e. CSAT Iran soldiers speak Vietnamese). This simple mod shuts them up.

The reason for this to happen is because they coded their language addons to detect sides instead of factions. You could also delete files such as uns_dsaiviet.pbo to remove the sounds and languages from the mod, but it may cause issues (not sure, untested.)

Optionally removes the additional English voicelines as well. PBO provided in "optional" folder.

Side effect: now their DSAI addon will whine about "no free language", and even NVA and VC soldiers won't speak Vietnamese any more (maybe? untested). I'll see if I can find a workaround for that. An unimplemented idea is to set the side for the language to civilian, but it may cause civilians to spout all sorts of languages at the same time. (update: tested, same error)

Or I could just rewrite a part of their DSAI addon and enforce the changes through dependency, but we'll see.

Love the Unsung mod, but Is there any way to shut the US AI up? Tired of a continuous stream of bot comments that serve no purpose and are worse than useless. Thanks.

No problem, go ahead and re-publish the mod if you need to. Most of my mods are free-for-all, same goes for this one.

Thanks man, this is a godsent. Could you publish an alternative version of this with the english-remover PBO moved to the "Addons" folder by default (or do you mind me publishing one)? I'd like to be able to include it in scenario dependencies so people can just click and play without needing any extra instructions about where to find the mod folder and move the PBO file.

Unless they remade their language addon, but I haven't looked at it for a while so not sure.

It only mutes Vietnamese from all OPFOR units and optionally whatever they're speaking on the BLUFOR and IND side.

Not sure if I'm doing it wrong, but this mod doesn't seem to work anymore. Have it loaded, and the AI are still speaking like they would without this. Am I missing something? Currently building a mission and testing it in Eden if that makes any difference.

I hope you do attempt to find a workaround for the issue, I've been looking for a mod that does this for a while and it seems like you're the only person to have taken a shot at making one.

really was hoping this would silence the AI from prairie fire ,guess not ... :(
