Class description
Corvettes (FS) are a class of small ocean going warships, forming the backbone of the auxillary and patrol fleet. Corvettes are subdivided into four styles: General purpose corvettes such as the Stalwart class, which are tasked with many of the escort and patrol duties. Torpedoboats, starting at the Vigilance class, which rely on high speeds and a large compliment of torpedoes to destroy subs and surface ships. These evolve into the subdestroyer class.

The ship
The Stalwart is one of the older vessels in the Eagle Industries catalogue, but no less powerful than more modern ones. Rather uniquely for a corvette; she's designed as an all-round patrol vessel. Her intended use is as second line and fleet escort vessel, lacking the speed that the Vigilance and Boxer classes have. Her more spacious hull allows for better survivability than the aforementioned ships though, and she should do fine against most vessels equal or higher in cost.

Unlike most other corvettes, she lacks torpedo armament, which does hamper her in some situations. Her top speed lies at 20 m/s. The slowest of all corvettes, her hullform doesn't allow for much higher speeds without overstressing the engine. Defences are provided in the form of limited shielding as well as missile and torpedo defences. Being able to dish out as well as receive damage does mean she'll stand her ground. The Stalwart has proven herself to be a rugged vessel that performs her roles with pride. You'll find her performing well in most situations.
